Heavenly Father,

ADORATION:
Great is Your Name over all the earth and greatly to be praised. You alone rule the earth, and yet You have, gracious God, given us the freedom of choice. You have given us freewill and You do not interfere with our choices.

Let all the earth praise the holy Name of the Lord Jesus Christ who has set us free from the bondage of sin and death. Hallelujah! Hallelujah to His Name. Glory be unto God Almighty, for there is no other God who can stand.

Father, Your Word:

1 Samuel 12:13
“Now therefore behold the king whom ye have chosen, and whom ye have desired! and, behold, the LORD hath set a king over you.”

CONFESSION:
You gave us what we asked for. You gave us the ability to elect our government. You gave us what we desired and now we see the long-term consequences.

Thank You that we have been a blessed nation from the beginning. We proclaimed You as our God and You lavished blessings on us.

Yet, Father, I confess that we have turned from You in many ways, and it is obvious, as we consistently pass laws that are against the guidelines that You have set, that we have gone our own way.

• – We no longer value You as our God, and took prayer out of schools and public forums.
• – We no longer value life, and passed laws to legalize abortion.
• – We no longer value Your marriage covenant, and legalized same-sex marriage.
• – We no longer value Your model for family, and have redefined it to suit our desires.
• – We no longer value Your desire for unity, and pursue division.

Forgive us, call us, individually, to repent.

THANKSGIVING:

• – Thank You that You bring hope.
• – Thank You that You bring hope because Jesus Christ paid for all our sins.
• – Thank You that Jesus Christ is Truth! Oh, how we need Truth. Jesus Christ, You are Truth!
• – Thank You for Your Word, that we can know who You are and understand Your character, Your countenance, Your hopes for us...and the things which You love and You hate.
• – Thank You that You have prepared a way for us to be in Your presence.
• – Thank You, Jesus Christ, that You rent the curtain in two and destroyed the barriers from our sin, that we may stand before the Holy God.
• – All praise and glory to Your Name, Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of the Living God.

Father, this nation is being stolen. Raise up Your church to pray:

Healthcare is becoming nationalized.

• With it, the government will choose who may receive care.
  – Raise up creative people and position them to find and implement alternatives that would preserve the free market.
• Healthcare has become an industry serving the greed of those who believe they can secure power and wealth.
  – Raise up those who would protect us. Raise up servants of the people.

Our government seeks to control our right to bear arms.

• The school shootings have caused our youth to demand gun control.
  – Help us to see the unintended consequences of government control. You, O God, know the message that would bring reasonability to this matter.
  – Teach us to pray for the safety of our nation and our right to protect ourselves as provided by the Constitution.
• This very action has great potential to cause our youth to be left at the mercy of those who seek to control the United States.
  – Grant us the words to communicate with our youth in ways that honor You and will protect them and their future.

Our government debt is out of control.

• We are addicted to buying, having, and succumbing to our desires.
  – Please work in our minds and hearts to desire control over our spending.
• Father, we do not control our personal debt.
  – Help us. Bring repentance, that we may set a contagious example in this nation.
• Father, we have made "self-control" undesirable. We have lost control.
  – Bring us back. Awaken our sensibilities to the Holy Spirit. ...alas, we are so lost.

We cannot do this on our own.
Please send Your Spirit and teach us to walk in faith and action...
     ...that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

Heavenly Father,
Your Word:

Psalms 122:6
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

James 1:5
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all [men] liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

James 3:17
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, [and] easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

In direct obedience, I come praying for the peace of Jerusalem. You have commanded that I do so. Many are concerned with the Iran Deal and we bring our concerns directly to You. Your Word focuses on the nations in the middle east, extending outward. So this focus for peace centers around Jerusalem. We need Your wisdom to pray. Our leaders need Your wisdom.

May believers in the United States grow a love for Jerusalem in their hearts for You. It is Your city. It's very meaning is City of Peace, Foundation of Peace. Iran threatens Israel and Jerusalem. We need Your wisdom to pray. Our leaders need Your wisdom to make godly decisions.

We lack knowledge and understanding. Our desire is to pray in accordance with Your Word. I pray for our leaders—grant them the wisdom from above. Grant them insights into the Iranian mindset to understand the triggers that define their words and actions. Grant every person involved in these decisions a spirit of humility that he or she needs You. May they clearly admit their impotence; that regardless of their "intelligence," their wisdom is limited. They need the wisdom from above. May they be cognizant of this fact and search Your Word and pray fervently for Your guidance.

We are already at war with the enemy of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. Again, and again, I ask that You raise up an army of prayer warriors. May prayers rise up before Your throne of grace unceasingly from this nation on behalf of our leaders, those in authority, and for the peace of Jerusalem.

Your Word promises to give wisdom, "liberally" to those who ask for it. I am here asking for it. I ask on behalf of our leaders: President Trump, Vice President Pence, decision makers and influencers in our armed forces, lawmakers in Washington and each state in the U.S. Father, I'm asking for wisdom for this nation, that we may confess our sin and return to You. Pour out Your spirit of wisdom that we may see our sin. May teachers and preachers of Your Word have the courage to speak out with conviction that this nation confess and repent of our sin.

We lack wisdom. May our leaders and decision makers know that their wisdom, regardless of the extensive network of information, is limited. Urge our leaders to seek Your wisdom. May they acknowledge their limitations and by Your Spirit, see Your wisdom...the wisdom from an omniscient God, who gives liberally to those who ask.

Beckon our leaders to acknowledge their need. May every one of them realize and confess their sin before You, that You may delight in pouring out of Your wisdom.

We need You. May this nation again...rejoice in You alone.

Hear my heart before Your throne of grace and mercy,

Weather Disasters: a prayer for fast action to help

***Hurricanes, earthquakes, flooding and fires: for fast action to help

1 Timothy 2:1-4
1. I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,

Thanksgiving belongs to You. You have grown this great nation from its inception. Thank You. This nation has been a world leader because of Your hand upon us. Thank You. I have lived in this nation and enjoyed freedoms for my entire life, because of your gracious blessings upon us. Again, I give You thanks.

You are a gracious God; slow to anger, and You desire that all men be saved. You are worthy of praise. You summon the wind and the waves and they obey Your voice. You created the sun and moon as a sign. You know every tremor and every earthquake. You know every person who lives and those who have died in the weather events. You know all.

We cannot help but ask, "Where are You?" Yet the question answers itself, because You are omni-present. You are here. You are with the people who are suffering from the damage of these hurricanes. May they cry out to You and find Your grace to help in their time of need.

Father, call Your church here in the U.S. to cry out to You. Wake us up. Let us enter Your gates with thanksgiving. So many people say, "We lost everything by we are grateful that our lives were spared." Be pleased with this set of priority. Father, raise up the church to take action. Already we are back to our lives as usual and we have forgotten those who continue to struggle.

Puerto Rico struggles in desperation. May Your church reach out in prayer and petition You on their behalf. Please sustain these people and help them to hold steady while help is mobilized. Sustain their lives, still their hearts. Give those who are able the ability to form teams to help others. Bind these people, strangers before the storm, to come together to uplift, encourage and sustain each other.

I pray for our leaders, Father. The nation is in disarray and these leaders need Your insight to know how to prioritize their actions. Help to the victims of these hurricanes cannot come fast enough, especially in Puerto Rico. Surround our leaders with solid advice and planning. Bring voice to those plans that can bring the greatest benefit. Father, by Your Holy Spirit, bring new ideas, unique ideas to the people involved so that people quickly receive basic needs.

You clearly tell us that You choose the leaders of every nation to do Your will.

Romans 13:1
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

Instill in Your church the understanding that to complain about these our leaders is sin. Instill in us to refrain from words that speak against Your chosen authorities. Let us turn from the temptation and instead choose to please You with prayers for them.

Father, I'm asking for the mobilization of basic life-sustaining needs: food, water, medical attention. Mobilize Your church here in the U.S. to pray for Your supernatural intervention for these people. We need Your help. I petition You to awaken Your church to rise up in prayer before Your throne.

Father, the temptation to go back to our daily lives "as usual" is great. We have become a self-absorbed society. The storms have gone by and with have minimal impact, it is easy to turn our back and resume our lives. May it not be so! Father, this is an opportunity to unify our nation. Raise up a sentiment of humility and before You, a vision within each person to do what they can, and courage to act.

Silence the accusers! Silence the complainers! Father, the media as well as loud-mouthed complainers use these disasters to tear down our leaders and our nation. Let us repent. You have called us to make supplication, prayers and intercessions for all men and for those in authority. We indulge in complaining. Forgive us. Place Your Word in the hearts of Your church that we have the mandate to pray. You tell us: Do everything without complaining or arguing (Philippians 2:14). Raise up a heart to do this.

Father, the enemy infiltrates the media. The people in this industry are being used in every scenario to tear down and cause division. Where is truth? Jesus, You are Truth. This industry proliferates lies and deception. Cause those who will use these disasters to complain and put down our government to be silenced. Raise up those who will report the truth. Trample down the lies that destroy.

Extol Yourself in these times. Have mercy on our nation. We do not deserve it. Yet, You are a gracious God and I ask for Your help in time of dire need.

Help us, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

Proverbs 6:16-19
These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Proverbs 10:12
Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins, acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths.

Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,
Hate has exploded in this nation and around the world. It is spreading like a cancer and has even infiltrated Your church.

Father, this is not the model that You have left us. This is NOT how You would have Your church behave. Have mercy, and pour out Your Spirit to lead and to guide us.

Bring us to repent! We have allowed this cancer. Call us to confess our part - both sins of commission and sins of omission. Convict us, please, Holy Spirit - we are desperate for Your conviction. Do not leave us in this horrible place —filled with the cancer of hate and anger.

Truly the enemy has the gained the upper hand —as hate and anger has infected and tricked Your church.

YOU set the standard of what we are to hate!
You hate:

1. A proud look
2. A lying tongue
3. Hands that shed innocent blood
4. A heart that deviseth wicked imaginations
5. Feet that be swift in running to mischief
6. A false witness that speaketh lies
7. He that soweth discord among brethren

Father, we have done ALL of these. I confess it! Every single thing You list that You hate, has been done. This didn't start at Charlottesville! It started long before. We, Your church have not prayed against the spirit of hate. We have not done our part and now the cancer has taken over. Call us to confess. Call those of us who have turned the other way to turn to You and confess our sin and repent. Call us.

Please, dear Holy Spirit, we are bereft of wisdom and we have become so consumed with personal desires that we have not looked up. We have not taken our place to care and protect our freedoms in this nation. We have turned blindly and we have not prayed fervently as You have been taken out of our culture. Call us to repent. Call us.

Surely, this started long ago, when prayer was taken out of the schools, when abortion became legalized, when the definition of marriage was changed, when... when... when... Call us to repent. Call us.

Peace has been stolen and hatred and indignation has taken its place. Have mercy.

Your church has been heisted. Surely, the elect has been deceived when we turn from Your mandate. You have set the standard for behavior:

Colossians 3:12-14:
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. 15And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

We, Your church, are not doing this. Some of us are lethargic and silent. Forgive us and call us to action. Some of us are angry and indignant. This is NOT what You have set as our acceptable response. Father, have mercy and wake us up.

Some of us have taken on the hatred and discontent of the world. We hate President Trump. We hate what people are saying and doing and we blame. We blame President Trump. We blame the church. We find fault and vomit out our hatred and blame. This is NOT what You have mandated us to do. Jesus, it is not the example that You have set.

Your Word tells us that You have clearly laid out that YOU choose our leaders.

Romans 13:1
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

Then, it seems that our anger should be with You for choosing President Trump. Yet, we choose to hate, to disparage, to malign, to blame, to criticize... these are NOT the responses that You have given us. This is NOT how You expect us to behave. This is NOT how a child of the Most High God is to respond. Help us LORD, we have lost our way. Have mercy. Call us to repent. Please call us.

We have lost our ability to listen, especially to You. We will not listen or even talk about issues. There is no conversation. Our anger towards each other has now turned us against each other. We are in a state of rebellion. Have mercy O God, and call us to confess and repent. Call us.

Hate is spreading like a cancer...We need You O God. Call us. Give us ears to hear and hearts to repent.

1 John 4:20
If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

Help us, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

***Hope for a nation bereft of truth...the prayers of one sinner

Psalms 145:18
The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,

You are the only source of real Truth. You are Truth and only by You can we know truth and justice. Do we want to know what is true and do we want justice? Or do we want the truth of our making? We concoct our own truth and call ourselves righteous. Forgive us.

You say You are near those who call upon You and that call upon You in truth. Raise up Your church to call upon You. Raise us up to cry unto You and to pour out Your Truth. Jesus, YOU are the way, the truth, and the life. (John 14:6). Yet, we desire our own version of truth. Forgive us and call us to You.

Such GOOD NEWS...truth is available to us! We don't have to devise our own plan for truth...because You have given us the real thing. Work in our hearts to truly desire real truth! Light a flame within us that we seek it. May our souls, dry as the desert sand, rise up and seek the living water that only You can provide. May we splash, drink long and deep, and be saturated with Your living water!

Do we want truth?

Father, this seems to be a bigger problem. Forgive us for preferring our own self-devised truth that serves our own agendas.

• The media abuses the influence they have. They lie repeatedly and covertly retract their lies —when no one is looking. They seek to influence the agendas of others without care for truth. They see their value in the number of readers rather than the quality and care of their products. Convict them. Call them to confess and repent.


• Mueller's Grand Jury. Father, there is so much garbage here. Where is truth? Because of the media, we don't even know what to believe or think. Do we want to know truth? ...or do we want to invent it? The people involved with this endeavor cannot consider finding real truth unless You guide them.
  
  The depth of garbage is so deep that we cannot tell if what is reported has ANY credibility. Yet so many of us believe we are able to discern the truth from the media reports. I ask Your interference.
  
  I ask You to elevate truth in this disruption and to bring truth to the surface, that it may be dismissed. Please raise up Your church to fervently pray for truth to be reported and known. Prepare us to face truth. Destroy every effort to promote lies and misleading quips
  
  
• Racial tension and animosity. You matter. You give us significance. Your love and care is for all people. We have lost sight of this truth. You love each person so much that You died for their sins. Did You leave some out? NO! It cannot be! It is our desire not to believe Your love that separates us. Father, we have lost sight of what You have saved us from —eternal separation from You. We choose to believe our own version of truth and have separated ourselves from Your Living Word —which is Truth. Help us Lord. Help us to return to Truth.
  
  Raise up the church to testify and LIVE out Your love for all people. May Your testimony go out through the actions of a loving church, focused on promoting real Truth.
  
  
• The definition of marriage has changed. Father, I am so embarrassed that I did not pray more, speak more, and testify that Your definition is true and worthy to be honored. I confess and repent. You defined marriage. Your definition is the standard upon which we will be judged. Call us to repent. Call Your church to clearly demonstrate Your design for marriage in a way that invites others to see this Truth.
  
  
• Your church. Father, we are surrounded and saturated with lies from every direction. Saturate us with Your living Word and grant us discernment and wisdom to know Truth. Grant us courage to speak Truth. Grant us a determined spirit to seek You and worship You in spirit and in Truth. We cannot do this of our own volition. Touch us. Waken us. Invigorate us to pray and to come together to bring Truth back to the United States.

Father, we are surrounded at every level and in every dimension with deception through fabricated media publications. We are all to blame as we have not honored truth in our homes and raised up a nation that embraces Truth. Please have mercy and call us to confess and repent of our desire to serve our own wicked agendas.

Do we even want truth? Your Word tells us:

John 8:32
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 16:13
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:

Truth has eluded our nation and Your church is at fault. We are to blame that this nation has turned from You because You have revealed Truth to us and opened the doors to seek Your standards. You have made it known that the battle is not against flesh and blood and we, Your church, have access to the spiritual realm where the battle for Truth is being fought. Guide us to enter into this realm and beseech You fervently. Then may this nation turn from its wickedness and find freedom based on truth.

Help us Lord. Help us, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,

This nation is divided in so many ways —from families to our national government. This is not Your will. Surely, we have lost sight of Your will and daily seek our own. Open our eyes, let us all be dismayed at our choices and seek You. May we confess our sin and repent of our ways that You can forgive us and heal our land.

For Family leadership:
Father, our families have fallen apart. The very definition of the family has been transformed from Your plan to that which openly defies the natural perfection of Your order. I repent from turning away. I repent of thinking that I can not participate or have voice...for You have opened the throne of heaven to have voice before You. You are the One that can change this nation. I ask it.

Uphold the definition of family. Raise up families that honor You and may their light shine brightly amidst the confusion and silently shout, "Here is the way! Walk ye in it!" May the family leadership be preserved and may it be a guiding light in every community. May every family leader be humble and seek Your will. Father, I ask a special blessing for those families that hold true to Your design and seek You.

I ask You to raise up this this grass-roots movement of leadership. May Your light in each household bring light to this nation once again.

For Business leaders:
You have blessed this nation and its economy when we honored Your clear direction on how to honorably conduct business. Thank You. As we have turned from Your ways to our own, You have extended Your grace and You have beckoned us to turn back to You. Yet we refuse to do so and we conduct our businesses as a means to exploit others, crushing employees and without thought to seek Your wisdom. We even persecute those businesses who hold firm to Your principles. Many businesses are pressured, even by our government, to turn from Your ways. And we deny that true success comes from You.

I confess that I have not done my part. I have not prayed for the business leaders in my community. I repent of thinking I can do nothing, when You open the gates to the Throne of Grace to me! You have promised to hear my words...I pray for these leaders, that they may see that all they have is Yours and they are stewards. Press them, encourage their spirits to seek You and turn to Your ways.

For Political leaders:
Father, we have not raised up leaders in this nation to be true servants of the people. From our families and daily living, we have not demonstrated that You are the Source of our blessing. Forgive us and illuminate our sin that we may see it, confess it, and repent.

What has been demonstrated in the home, the community and in daily living has so decayed, that now our national leaders are also self-serving, forgetting that they serve because YOU have appointed them. I have not prayed diligently for the leaders of this nation. I confess and repent. You have commanded that we pray for our leaders. Thank You.

I ask that You open their eyes to realize that true power comes from humility. Dismiss all arrogance from their hearts and minds. Touch them that they can listen with integrity and truly seek Your will and live by Your principles. Raise up leaders who know Your Word and resolve to live by it...that they may be a testimony that You are the One True and Living God.

Help us, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

Draining the swamp...the prayers of one sinner

*** We have the government we deserve.

1 Timothy 2: 1-2
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father, You exhort us to fervently pray, intercede and to give thanks...for kings and those in authority so that we can live peaceably, in godliness and honesty.

This nation is not living peaceably, nor in godliness or honesty...surely, therefore, we must conclude that we have not prayed, interceded, or given thanks for kings and those in authority. So we have the government we deserve. This is a very hard thing to swallow. I am a fault.

I did not pray when prayer was taken from the schools, when abortion was legalized, when family was redefined, or when indiscretion filled the government. I confess, and I repent. I will pray for this nation, its leaders, and those in authority.

Father, this nation has turned from Your ways. It has gone so far that now there is a swamp. We need Your help. You have promised:

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

So I humbly confess sin before You. I ask for prayers for our leaders...from small towns to the Capitol. I am seeking You. I am asking for Your guidance in prayer, that this nation can turn from its ways...so that You may hear, forgive, and heal this land.

We cannot do this without Your help. So I'm asking.

Deception seems rampant. We can't tell truth from fiction. Indiscretion in the socialsphere is rampant, without thoughtful filters. It seems impossible to find truth. Yet, Jesus, You are Truth.

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

How do we speak You, speak Truth, into this nation? Do we even want to know the truth? ...or do we just want to believe what we want. Father, we have become a self-serving nation. Help Lord! Turn our hearts, soften our resolve and penchant for our own desires.

Father, it has become so incredibly confusing about what can be believed. I ask that Truth rise up. Where can it be found? I ask that, as a nation, we come before Your throne of grace and plead for mercy. I ask that we rise up en masse and seek You, seek Truth, and speak Truth.

I ask that You move in the hearts of Your church. Rile us up. Work within us that we may be disturbed by what we see and hear. May we find our nation unconscionable. May we cease to be silent before You.

Raise up Your church to confess and repent from our silence. Raise up Your church to take a stand for Jesus Christ, first in our own lives, our own prayer closets.

Father, where are the pastors? Where is the church leadership? Many are silent. This should not be. Help us to change. In Your mercy, cause discomfort within us that we might turn from our wicked ways. Teach us our part that we seek and stand for Truth as a nation, once again.

Thank You for this nation. Thank You for the years where You blessed us as the greatest nation in the world. Thank You for the prosperity that You have bountifully poured out. Thank You that we can look back and compare where are now, with where we were when we honored You.

Help us, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

The sins of a nation ...the prayer of one sinner

Proverbs 6:16-19
These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,

It is confusing—perhaps I make it so. You are love, yet You are justice. Your love for us gave us the Lord Jesus Christ to demonstrate obedience and provide the way to eternal salvation for our souls — yet, You anger over sin and there is a comprehensive list of what You hate:

• Pride
• Lying
• Shedding innocent blood
• Wicked hearts
• Mischievous activities
• A false witness
• Those that sow discord.

I look at this list and I know I am guilty.

I have been prideful, looking at those who try to escape their reality with drug and addictions; those engaged in the sex industry and trafficking; those who uphold and promote sexual confusion—especially with children... and what have I done? I have said in my heart, "Thank you that I am not like those sinners." What a smokescreen. It is pride. Please forgive me.

You hate lying and I have truly lied to myself...every time I looked at the sin of others and didn't pray for them...even a short mutter under my breath... I lied to myself when I thought, "There's nothing I can do!" ...I could have prayed and I should have done so. I haven's sought You on how to love them. Please forgive me.

...and abortion continues. There is no way that I am innocent of this, because I haven't been diligent in praying for those making a decision to abort, those who work in the industry, those who have power to change the laws. ...I have lied to myself when I thought there was nothing I could do... I could have prayed.

You hate wicked hearts... and there are daily reportings of terrorists acts. I cannot plead, "I didn't know." ...surely, I am so aware of so much that it is overwhelming. The wickedness cannot be denied. I have not prayed for those caught up in terrorism. I haven't even muttered a prayer for the victims and their families. Please forgive me.

You hate mischievous activities and a false witness. The reports from our government seem stuffed to the brim with power agendas, clever ploys, lies, leaking of information... the list is endless. It is mischievous and when I don't pray for them, I become a part of it—a participant. Please forgive me. Change me.

You hate those that sow discord...Oh Father, this happens in our churches, our neighborhoods, our communities...is it any wonder that the discord of Congress struggles to find unity? Change me into a unifier. Change ME. Change many...

It is the "age-old" question. How am I to love?

John 13:5
By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

I can, at the very least... pray.
Do You hear the brief mutterings under my breath? I think so.

Help me. Help this nation, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

Romans 10:14
“How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?”

Heavenly Father,

Truly, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the most wonderful reality on this earth. Our leaders, locally, across the State and nationally, are in incredible need. And they may not even know it. The Gospel of Christ— Freedom from sin and peace from the Prince of Peace.

Raise up men and women to demonstrate the Gospel in many dimensions. May every leader be presented the Gospel from multiple directions. Truly, may it be so poignant, everywhere they turn, that it is undeniable. Amen!

May these leaders hear Your Gift of Salvation. Please raise up loving preachers who demonstrate the Gospel in their lives, people who are trustworthy and credible to our leaders at every level. Father, fill them with Your Holy Spirit to deliver the one message that never gets old:

Jesus Christ has died in our place to pay the price for our sins—that we might have life everlasting and enjoy You in all eternity. Father, please raise up these people to preach the Gospel. And please open the hearts and minds of theses leaders to hear and accept Christ as Savior.

Father, You have sent Your Word. We have it! It is so readily available here in this country. Thank You! But truly it is of no value to our leaders if they don't access it. Father, I ask for the availability of the Gospel to every leader in the United States. Please make a Bible be available to them in their homes and in their offices. And then, grant them an undeniable and urgent desire to open Your Word and read it—specifically to find Your wisdom and purpose for them—and to direct them in the decisions that they make as leaders and servants of the people in this nation.

There are other ways they can "see" Your Truth, Your Salvation, Your path...and that is through the lives of others who profess faith in Christ and seek the spirit-filled life. Oh, please, raise up an army of people who live life in a manner that brings credibility to the Gospel. May this testimony be so obvious. Father, I ask it. Raise up Your army and may we say, "Send me."

Father, touch the lives of all our leaders with a true desire to serve and be honorable before You. Bring true Christian witness and testimony to them and bind them in the fellowship fo the Holy Spirit...that this nation can be changed.

Help us, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

Heavenly Father,

You, O God of heaven and of earth. You are Authority. Lord Jesus Christ, all things have been put under Your feet. You are Authority. Thank You. Solidify; cement our understanding that You are the seat of power in our lives, in this nation, and in the world. You—who made the heavens and the earth are the foundation of all that exists and You have fashioned this earth that we might be blessed and have relationship with You. Thank You that You are a God who is for us, who wants only good for us and who desires to have relationship with us.

You have all authority, yet You give us free will and we have authority over our actions, our words, and especially our thoughts. Yet, we are weak. Our desires take over our thoughts and our actions. We do not have the self-control to remain pure as You intended. You knew this would happen and You provided Your own Son as our substitute for our sin, that Your authority could be ours. Thank You.

Lord Jesus Christ, You have given authority to all those who believe in You:

Luke 10:19
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

We have Your authority. It is too much to understand. Nonetheless it is so. Teach us, during this tumultuous time how to use this authority that You have paid for. Give us an unction, move us, compel us to take this authority and to use for Your kingdom. We have the authority. Do we use it? Do we use it intentionally? Urgently? Help us Lord.

We are in authority, yet many of us are dormant. Many of us are paralyzed. Many of us are distracted. Forgive us.

Waken us to do Your will. We have the power and authority and keep it under our bed. Let our light so shine that others are drawn to it.

Father, we need God-fearing advisers. Our leaders need God-fearing counsel. Raise up Your choices in the eyes of our government officials to surround themselves with those to whom You have given spiritual authority. As elected officials choose their counselors, grant favor to Your choices. Align our local, state, and national leaders with God-fearing counsel from those who know Your Word.

Father, may this be a turnaround in this nation. Compel all of us, who are Yours, to become active and take a stand in the decision-making processes that direct our nation. Waken Your church to become the advisers to those who wield earthly power. Grant us relationship with those in authority over us, to become trusted. May we become known for our humility, our graciousness, our wisdom from above, and our genuine care for those around us.

Empower us. May we realize the importance of our urgent attention to this matter and seek You with great diligence to pray for our leaders, to serve with honor, and to seek You each day to use the authority and responsibility that You have given us.

Help us, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

Heavenly Father,
Father, You know each candidate running for election and re-election. And You know every person who will vote for them. Thank You that there is nothing hidden from You. You are the omniscient, all knowing God of the universe. There is nowhere to hide from You and no reason to do so. Praise be to Your Name. Blessings to the God of creation.

As we approach the elections, we need wisdom. The distractions of the candidate parleys are so filled with non-election content that it has become almost impossible to find value in what is being said. Yes, we need wisdom and we know where to find it.

James 1:5
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

We not only need wisdom Father, but all of us, citizens, residents, and candidates need discernment as well. Discernment to identify key messages. Discernment to understand the needs of the people in this nation. Discernment to plow through the rhetoric from candidates and voters. Discernment to hear Your voice and recognize Your leading. Discernment to see long-term consequences for our nation.

There is so much at stake and it reaches far beyond the presidency.

We need Your help. We need the wisdom that is from above, the wisdom that can only come from You. Help Lord. Have mercy on us, for we have gone astray and are lost. We flounder in the muck that we have created.

Open our eyes to see cause and effect. Grant us laser vision to see through to key issues and extract the specific information that will cause us to make decisions that will honor You. Everyone seems to have "the" answer. Yet, our vision is clouded.

Even in the day, it seems very, very dark. Help Lord, have mercy on us. Yes, we need wisdom, we need Your wisdom.

James 3:17
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

The ramifications of this election are so great as the United States is at a cross-roads on many issues. Distrust and confusion seems intentional and promoted liberally. Trust has eroded. Skepticism abounds.

Psalm 139:14
14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

Have mercy. Lead us and guide us. Help us, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

Beckon us to come. Place a yearning within this nation to desire righteousness and to seek You, who gives freely. Truly, we can have no righteousness of our own, but only through Jesus Christ, who clothes us in His righteousness. Only through Him can we even approach You.

Philipianes 3:9

Raise up a nation of humble followers of Christ. Raise up an army of prayer warriors who love what You love and hate what You hate. Establish prayers within us to pray for our leaders and this nation to seek the true righteousness that comes only from Christ.

Father, You establish Your own as a testimony of Your work within us. Thank You. Give us a testimony to those who see our lives—a testimony that is credible and inviting. Establish relationships with local, state and national leaders that, through us, Truth may be spoken.

Father, in this army of prayer warriors and action-takers, fill us with unction to hear Your voice and to move quickly when opportunity arises. Give us a doorway to our leaders throughout the nation and our neighbors, to pray with compassion, to implore You on our behalf, to beg You for Your mercy and bring this nation back to Your guidance, Your principles, and Your favor.

Heavenly Father,
You are the Go of mercy and of grace. You are the God who has upheld this nation from its inception and You have established tremendous riches that have blessed us since its birth. Thank You.

We have become a proud nation and we have turned from You. We have become proud of our accomplishments and our forsaken Your Guidance. We have become a nation that believes we can rule ourselves without You. Forgive us for forgetting Your mighty works. Forgive us for turning from bounty of our past and for believing that we are able and capable of managing and handling our affairs without Your guidance.

Forgive us, that believe in You, when we have not lifted up prayers for our leaders. Forgive us when we have not delivered a testimony and loving Christian witness. Truly, we have the government that we deserve. Hep us to see that You are the True and Living God and revitalize our eagerness to be Your witness.

Raise up those who would seek to have a voice to those leaders in city, state and national offices. Fill them with words that would move the hearts of these leaders! May these spokespersons find open hearts, willing minds, and people who don't have answers and are looking for them. Work within the hearts of these leaders to realize that they don't know how to lead or to govern.

May our leaders find themselves inept and impotent to do the job that they have agreed to do....and place a longing within them to do a good job. Father, please show them their need for You, for Your guidance, and for Your mercy. At such time, may there be a god-chosen witness in their presence.

Father, please place an urgency within the hearts of Your faithful to pray for our leaders. May church leaders rise up and visit civic leaders. Give Your people influence and open their eyes to realize they can make a difference. Raise up congregants who have influence to bring together teams of prayer warriors to pray intentionally for their civic, state and our national leaders. Pour out prayers into these prayer warriors...prayers that would move Your heart, that You would open the hearts of our leadership....prayers that would energize, change lives, and redirect this nation to serve You once again.

Help us, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

Heavenly Father,
Grant us prayers for this nation. Prayers that would move Your heart. Mercy Lord. Have mercy on us for we are a rebellious nation that has turned from You with great vehemence.

Thank You that we have tasted freedom. Forgive us that we have not protected it and now our freedoms are at risk. Thank You for the bounty that You have blessed this nation with—agriculture, ingenuity, technology, a strong armed forces, and a spirit of productivity.

Forgive us for not valuing and protecting these blessings. We have used our freedoms to protect those that hate You and who hate everything associated with You. We have elected leaders and officials who hate You and those who serve You. Forgive us for not praying for them. Show us the path to repentance and to You be the glory.

Father, we are now a fractured nation. Division reigns. Our culture is fractured and fear has permeated communications between citizens and authority. Our police forces are fearful as colleagues are killed. Black people are fearful as they are gunned down without reason. The list goes on and on...

So many people are fearful of their future. Young adults do not see a pathway to earn a living. So many people have lost their jobs, their savings, their homes and their hope for a future. Yet our leaders tell us that everything is moving in the right direction and we are fine. Leadership has deteriorated and those in authority use manipulative fear to justify using force.

Father, upgird us! Raise up Your army of prayer warriors. Suit us up for battle! Armor on! Hearts and minds quiet. Let us hear from Your Spirit to pray for this nation! Pour out Your Spirit upon us, upon churches that we would repent on our knees and plead the cause of this nation, its leaders, and those in authority. Fire us up! Encourage us. Show us how to encourage each other.

Raise up new leaders, fire up those who are in position now to speak truth. Give those who would hear a heart to listen. Open up communications that this nation can return to the greatness YOU bestowed upon us if we will repent and return to You. Please give us a humble spirit to seek You and once again worship You and You alone.

Humble us. Humble our leaders. Humble those in authority. Open our minds and hearts to take careful inventory of our past and to see when we were "one nation under God" and the changes that have led us to this place. Show us how that, step by step, we have turned from You and melt our hearts to return to You.

Only Your Holy Spirit can open our eyes to see this thing. I plead this cause. Help us turn from our ways. Help us to see the wickedness of our ways and also see that You have been the source of Truth and source of our prosperity. Help Lord!

Father, again, humble those in authority. Out of fear they have taken up arms and vehemently seek to take away our right to protect ourselves. Raise us up to speak the peace of the Prince of Peace: Jesus Christ our Lord.

Our leaders and those in authority have forgotten that they serve You. They have forgotten that they are the ambassadors that are in Your service to protect and govern. Humble them. Humble them. Humble them that they may see that You are the One True and Living God.

Our government has become fat. It has expanded to become powerful and it no longer serves the people, but exists to become more and more powerful and reign over us. Smite it down!

Raise up leaders who will serve through the truths and guidelines that You have given us. Smite down those leaders who are power-hungry, self-serving, and who have formed alliances to crush this nation. Smite them down!

We need You. We have gone the way of rebellion.
We need You. We have lost our way.
We need You. We have lost our freedoms.
We need You. Our leaders seek their own desires.

You are our only hope. Melt our hearts.
You are our only hope. Strengthen our will to return to You.
You are our only hope. Raise up Your Word that it be spoken in humility.
You are our only hope. Raise up leaders who serve you and recognize that YOU are Authority...and our only Hope.

Help us, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the opportunity to pray for our leadership. Draw Your church together for this purpose and fill us with a diligence and urgency. Help us to understand the disdain that You have for sin and that our leaders are targeted by enemy. Draw us to prayer. Help us to understand how critical it is for us to seek You in prayer on behalf of these men and women. Grant us a deep discernment.

There are so many leaders in our lives:

• Our political leadership challenges our nation. Father, it is hard to know what to pray.
• Our societal leaders seem bent on embracing every sexual perversion and making it legal. Those who oppose challenged to not only agree with it, but also to affirm the behaviors.
• Our business leaders struggle to keep their jobs under the pressure of increased revenue...greed has taken over.
• Our educational leadership strives to please society and teach political correctness rather than spiritual integrity.
• Many church leaders have fallen away from Your Word and have brought perversion int Your church.

These men and women will eventually stand before You and make account of their lives, their decisions, their motives.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths.

Give them a heart for accountability. Help them to live with this truth that they will stand before You and may this be foremost in their minds. This message impacts our lives at every level from the food and clothing we buy to the laws under which we live. Father, I acknowledge that this battle is not against flesh and blood.

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

So truly, Christians have the government we deserve. We know there is more to this than what we see in the physical. Forgive us for our lack of diligence. Father, You have commanded us to pray for our leaders and we will stand to give account as well.

1 Timothy 2:2
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

We need Your Holy Spirit to fill us. Pour out a spirit of integrity and dignity. Wash us thoroughly—every particle of our being: physical, emotional, spiritual— that we may understand cleanliness through the work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Humble us, Father, that our eyes may be opened and we may see our sin. I ask this for Your church and for our leaders.

Forgive us for the degeneration of our appetites. Our appetite for entertainment, for sexual perversion, and leaders who entice us to bargain with truth. Help us to reset our thinking and the direction of our lives.

You are the Creator and You have made us in Your image. Grant our leaders new creative solutions that would be honorable to You. Father, the U.S. society has become corrupt. Forgive us for ignoring it. And now there is a penalty for taking a stand for truth and justice. So we need strength, resolve, and a spirit of sacrifice if we are going to stand according to Your Word.

We cannot do this without You but all things are possible with You. Raise us up to know and believe that You are are our hope. Grant us the resolve to stand strong and fix our gaze on the day of our accountability before You. Fill us with a deep joy that our standing before You is all that matters. May this flood through this nation. May leaders from every crevice of society, from the POTUS to the lowest manager, be diligent. Truly this could change our nation.

With You, all things are possible. Have mercy, O God of mercy.

Heavenly Father,
Our lives here in America are no longer peaceful. This nation seems to be crumbling at every turn. Our leadership disparage each other. There is no sense of respect (self-respect or otherwise) or social appropriateness. Forgive us for not praying more for our nation. Forgive us for turning from You. But I boldly come before You and ask You to fill us with understanding and prayers for the men and women who lead in this nation, that by Your Spirit, we may return to You.

For our leaders, I ask that Your Holy Spirit open their eyes to see clearly the cause and effect that has brought about our current condition. Surely, the election can not solve our problems. We need Christ and Christ crucified.

Our leaders face so many challenges as we witness civil unrest, frustration, discrimination from so many fronts. The economic picture and forecast is bleak as our national debt has surpassed our ability to be honorable to our creditors. We are at great risk. Corruption and greed seems to have spread to the every sector, every crevice of our society. Our minds and hearts are in disarray as we try to sort out our lives, yes, even our prayers.

May the Body of Christ step up! Give us words from Your Spirit to speak to those who are unfairly accused, unfairly targeted, and where justice has alluded their lives. Cause those in leadership to have the words to say that would turn us towards each other rather than against each other.

You are unity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Teach us how to bring unity of thought and mind to our daily situations and cause us to be identified as leaders. Show our leaders how to lead through their thoughts, words, and actions. May we be a nation of righteous action once again.

Father, is the Body of Christ depleted? Are we without hope? Uplift our spirits with the hope that would cause us to move, to pray, to become active in our neighborhoods, our churches, our work places. Fill our hearts with prayers for those who lead: from the retail manager to the President of the United States.

Help us to engage in prayer that You may build Your testimony to us and to this nation that if we would turn to You, there is hope. Fill our leadership with the humility and the courage to turn to You. Show them their time of great and unprecedented need, and may it be so overwhelming that they can determine that only You, only the true and living God can help us. ...and may they run to You to find Your grace, Your mercy, Your sacrifice for them. May they come to the point where they know that You will show them the path through this mess which we have brought upon ourselves.

May there be a movement to You. May there be an outpouring of prayer and supplication before Your throne. Move the Body of Christ as is appropriate to the situation and strengthen us to move swiftly at the unction of Your Spirit. Capture us to hear Your voice. Sensitize our spirits to know Your Spirit and be committed to following quickly and with stealth.

With You all things are possible. Awaken the Body of Christ. Help us be willing to get in spiritual shape to serve You effectively; not in our own strength, but in Yours.

U.S. Election Prayer No. 4: Praying for God's Choice Not Ours

***That we would focus more on God's choice for our next leader than on electing a Christian

Daniel 2:20-21 KJV
20 Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings

Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,
You are the God of order. You have set the world in order and at creation. The earth proclaims You are sovereign, loving, beautiful. You are also wise—comprehensive wisdom, You are vengeful; and You are jealous of anything that promotes evil. Father in heaven, You are not bound by time and You know our end before our beginning.

In You alone, we can have complete confidence.

Praise be to Your Name. Praise be to the Father, to Jesus Christ, Your Son, and to You, Holy Spirit of the One True and Living God.

The United States is at a crossroads. We have been here before. Now it is dire. There is so much at stake with these elections. Truly, it seems that every one of us will make account for our actions during these elections: whether we prayed, whether we sought You, and how we exercised the privilege to vote for our next President.

Father, we have not been diligent. Forgive us. Turn us, that we may truly repent and become active as the Holy Spirit leads us. May we diligently seek this leading. As Christians, it is easy to believe that You would have a Christian in the White House, as our President. Yet, Your choice my be very different. A "Christian" as President may not be Your will. It may not be in our best interest.

Father, may we seek Your will and not be deceived by our own thinking.

Proverbs 16:12
There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Isaiah 55:8
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

Isn't it logical for us to think that a believer in Jesus Christ is best? Having a person who diligently seeks You as our leader...Father, it seems like the right thing to ask of You. Yet, maybe that is not Your will.

A "Christian" may have no credibility, simply because he or she is a Christian. I am so sorry that this nation has come to this. Is it plausible that for a great revival to take place, that we must fall even deeper and become yet more reprobate and rebellious? Is it possible that through a different individual, this nation will degenerate even farther down the path of corruption and that because of it, we would turn to You?

Father, You sent Israel into captivity to Egypt. They were brought there in time of famine. Eventually, they cried out to You as the oppression of Pharaoh became so great. But in the end You used Pharaoh and eventually, You destroyed all the Egyptian army (Exodus 14:28). You sent Israel into captivity to Babylon and kept them there until You proclaimed that You would destroy Babylon (Jeremiah 51).

Must we go into captivity, that, as a nation we may turn back to You? Is it too late? If so, then raise up those who would fight for Christ that others may find Him. Show us the path to revive our spirits to take on the battle that is not about flesh and blood. Show us how to wage war in the spiritual realm for those we know, that they may find salvation.

Father, it is a hard thing to ask for Your judgement on the United States. It is a hard thing to ask for Your will rather than our own. Here we are living in a perverse nation. As You used the King of Egypt and the Kings of Babylon to get the attention of Israel, help us pray that You will get our attention. Show us how to support Your work, rather than seek the security of our pleasurs.

Forgive us for thinking that a "Christian President" will fix everything. We have not done the work of maintaining our freedoms and praying for our leaders. By and large, we have not been involved for decades and left only a few to carry the banner of our Judaeo-Christian beliefs. We have taken Your blessings for granted, enjoyed the prosperity and gone about our prosperous lives—filling ourselves with our every desire. Forgive us. Forgive me. Help me turn, help us to turn and pray.

U.S. Election: Prayer No. 3: For diligence and discernment

***For Americans to be diligent, discerning and prayerful during the election season

1 Samuel 16:7
7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.

Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,
We are helpless by ourselves. The situation of our nation seems beyond help. We are impotent and we have waited too long to actively engage in the political arenas in our nation. Forgive us. Give us hope. Raise up our hearts to take back this country.

Raise us up to bring revival back to the USA. May each person who calls Jesus Christ their Savior rise up and take their place in the ranks as a soldier of Christ. Our nation is as stake. Plant seeds of urgency within us. Cause us to rise up in prayer. Cause us to gather fellow Christians to pray for these elections.

Give us discerning minds. Grant us a focus on the real issues. We see the outer appearance of these people. We hear their words. We see enticing possibilities, and we are often swayed by what we take in through our senses. Let us seek You diligently to see as You see. You see the heart. Enable us to see past the words and the tone. Help us to see the heart of the people who are running for office as well as the media who reports it.

Father, there is no way that we can do this of our own abilities. Thank You!

Our nation is falling apart. Our fiscal spending is out of control. Our culture despises You and all You stand for. There is civil unrest in many arenas. Sexual experimentation and self gratification have permeated our daily living. Wake us up. Cause the stupor to lift from your church where so many of these practices also prevail.

James 1:5
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

We need You. We need discernment. As the candidates move through the paces of the election schedule, grant us wisdom as we listen and watch. Grant us focus to hear Your Spirit. Grant us a firm commitment to the restoration of the United States as One Nation Under God.

U.S. Election: Prayer No. 2: America at a Crossroads

***That Americans would have discernment in choosing a new president

He gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to the discerning.

Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,
Our nation is at a crossroads. Our leadership has turned from You and we have become complacent. We are a nation divided in so many ways. Government has grown and so has our national debt.

I have not been involved. I have not prayed as I should for our leaders and for our nation. I have sat on the sidelines and watched, when You have made it so easy for me to make a difference by coming to You in prayer. Please forgive me and grant me prayers, led by Your Spirit, that I may be found faithful when I stand before You.

Father, the elections loom before us. You are the God of wisdom and power. True wisdom and power belong to You. So does truth and mercy! Help Lord! We need wisdom as we choose who will be in this powerful office of President.

Expose the lies that proliferate the media. Loose the controls that cover up the truth about these candidates. Prick the heart of every aspect of the media to report honestly and to choose their words and print carefully. Give viewers and listeners discernment to know within our spirit how we can pray and how we should vote.

Father, we have lost vision for our nation. We are divided in so many ways. Every person finding ways to do what is right in his or her own eyes.

Judges 21:25
In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

Proverbs 14:12

This verse sounds like the U.S. Even churches have joined in. Many have become reprobate as You told us would happen. Are we past revival? Is anything too hard for You? What must we undergo to return to a godly nation?

We need Your help. We need a wake-up call to Your Church, to arise and pray. Convict us to pour out our hearts before You that we would return to godly principles. As we watch the elections, as we listen to the news, pour out prayers on the hearts of believers, that we may bring them before Your throne of grace and mercy.

Forgive us for gauging what is right through our own desires, rather than heeding Your Word and following the path of security and safety that You have outlined. Open our eyes to see the path of confession, repentance, and bring us to prayer that we may have discernment as we choose the next President of the United States.

U.S. Election: Prayer No. 1: For Prayerful Selection as we Vote

***That our nation prayerfully choose our leaders.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the privilege You have given me to be born and lived in the United States. Father, this nation has turned from You and we have gone our own way. Forgive me for not praying more fervently. Forgive me for not “getting involved” in politics. Forgive me for not vetting out leaders before elections and for not seeking You on behalf of this nation. I have become complacent. Forgive me and help me change.

You are sovereign. Thank You. You choose leaders who bring about the circumstances where we may choose who we will serve. It seems our nations has chosen very poorly as every aspect of our living seems to have turned away from You. Our government, education, culture, and commerce are in grave disrepair.

Father, our leadership appears to be defiant against You and against Christians. Our culture demands outward acceptance and affirmation of all You despise. Help Lord. We need leadership and a return to Your ways.

It seems we are at a crossroads as we are choosing our next President. Move in our hearts to choose the President that would cause our nation to come before You in humility. Holy Spirit, humble us. Drive us before the Throne of Grace. Revive Your church to plead the case of this nation before You. Cause Your church to drive out the sin in our own individual lives, that we may rightly plead the cause of this nation.

Help Lord. Raise up pastors to preach about sin. Raise up churches to repent. Raise up leaders both in the church and in our political realm to walk in the counsel of the godly. Show us the path to once again delight in Your law.

We have entered the backstretch on the road to November 8. We need Your guidance and Your vision. Have mercy on us and show each of us our part. Help us to restore Your Word, in our hearts, in our minds, in our government, our finances, our educational system, our nation at large.
