Pastors, overwhelmed, the Body of Christ (Psalm 69)

My God,my God, the enemy, Your enemy who hates us is unrelenting in his frevor to take us down. I appeal to You.

You are the God who saves. You are the omnipresent One who knows the whole situation in the attack against pastors, their church, and all of us who call You Lord. I appeal to You for the attacks are fierce.

You enemy divided the heavenly host. He is a master of division. But You, O God both divide and unify. You divided the Red Sea...transforming it into a pathway to safety. And You reunified it, to bring destruction against the enemy of Your people.

He is cunning in his devices, but You O God, move with wisdom, justice, and power that puts him to shame. He comes against us becuase we worship You. He thinks to harm You by harming us. But You O God, hear the prayers of Your people.

We are the Body of Chirst. Through His sacrifice, we come. Not on any merit of our own, but through the reception of Jesus Christ, Your Son. Hear my prayer. Raise up Your church to oppose the evil that pervades our land.

We are sinking in the deep mire. There is no solid ground for our feet. We are exhausted. The deep waters threaten us, the floods seek to sweep us under where there is no breath.

THe wiles of the enemy seek to overcome us. They seek us from every angle, and they come, knowing their time is short. They hate us because we are Yours. They attack us knowing we will live forever with You. THey resent that our standing before You is through Christ and they are pitifully impotent.

THey believe they are mighty. THey believe they can destroy. They lead us into temptation and push all our sin into our minds. They validly accuse us of our sin. BUT, we come to You through the blood of Jesus Christ. We come, our sin covered and forgiven. We come grateful for You O God are our salvation and through Christ, our salvation is sure.

We come. Lead us before Your thoune of grace! Compell us to repent of our sin and find grace to help in time of need. Review, for each of us, our hearts and minds and our sins, that we may come boldly before You and confess all that is between us. Restore to us the joy of our salvation, for we are overwhelmed.

In Your care and love for us, restore the tenderness between each heart. Let us again, in the spirit, know that You are with us. Your mercy extends beyond our sin. Your Word clearly articulates what we are to do. Open our eyes to see the path. Open our hearts and fortify us for the relationships that You desire. Strengthen our resolve.

Deliver us out of the mire that we may not isnk. Deliver us from Your enemy who hates us and seeks to drown us in the deep waters. Speak the word that will stop the waterflood from overflowing us. By Your hand, O God, we will not be swallowed up. We will not sink into the pit.

You are the Maker of lovingkindness! Your tender mercies create a pool of righteousness. Hide not Your face from us. Hear this prayer speedily, draw us close to You and deliver us for Jesus' sake.

Jesus, you suffered reproach, shame, and complete poverty for our sakes. You accomplished all that needs to be accomplished. You said, "It is finished." Bring this reality to the present in our lives, our hearts, and our communion with You and with each other.

The heaviness seeks to crush us. Yet, Jesus, who is Christ, You were crushed on our behalf. You conqueered Your enemy forever. Invigorate us with these truths.

Let the wiles of the enemy turn back upon them. Let them be caught in their own snares. O God, let every trap set for Your beleoved, be the very trap they are caught in. Blind them that they may not find their way out. Bind them tightly and frustrate every attempt to get free. O God, hear my prayer.

Pour out Your indignation upon them. Encumber them with Your wrath and anger. Take hold of them and crush their desire to come against us. Hear my prayer and rise up O God who love those who have turned to You for salvation.

We were poor in spirit, brought to destruction becuase of our sin. But we turned to You and You lifted us up. You brought us before Your throne of grace and You gave life through Your Spirit. You made us Your own. Hear my prayer.

I write to You in the righteousness of Christ. I have nothing of my own to bring. But I come through Christ. I come humble of heart. I know I have nothing to offer You that is of my own accord. But I know that through Christ, all things are possible.

I appeal to You O God. I appeal to You because of Christ.

You are the God of our salvation,
Set us on high that we may praise Your Name with song.
Raise us up to magnify Your Name with thanksgiving.

I come humbly. I seek You.

Make our hearts glad for it is You I seek.

God who hears the prayers of the poor and who came to set the captives free, open up the heavens and rain down Your goodness upon Your people. Raise up praise and hearts of worship before You. Bring us to the place of Your good pleasure; for You alone are God.

To You alone I bring my petition for pastors, churches, and all who are of the Body of Christ.

Maranatha!

Let God arise (Psalm 68)

O God of the Ages, God of all Creation, God who has always been, who is, and who always will be...

Arise O God, that Your enemies are scattered...Your very presence scatters the enemy. Those who hate You quickly flee in terror. Arise O God.

Drive away as smoke... a wisp in the breeze...they are nothing. BVut they flaunt their power and call themselves gods. The are desperate and drunk for power. Rise up O God and call out their folly.

Let them melt like wax in a fire. Loose Your holy fire upon them that they be no more. Let the scourge of their wickedness perish in Your presence.

Then will the righteous rejoice. Then will they exalt Your Name. Rise up O God.

I will sing to the God of my salvation. I will sing praises to Your Name. I will extol You who rides on the clouds. Your name is YAH! I will be glad in Your presence.

O God, You are the Father to orphans, and the Defender of widows.
You give home to the homeless and lead prisoners out of poverty.

You wet out before Your people in the wilderness. At Your presence the earth responds. The mountains shake, the rains pour forth, the very earth quakes. From You is rain pletiful. You resotre Your heritage when we are weary. You provide for the poor.

Give the command O God, and the Good News army rise up. Your enemies flee! ... and Your own divide the spoil. You scatter kings across the face of the earth.

The mountains are Your O God and You choose where Your presence will reside. You live forever. Your chariots or myriads, thousands upon thousands and You, Your holiness lives forever.

You lead captivity captive.

Blessed be Adonai!

You bear our burdens and bring salvation.
You are the God who saves. THrough You alone is there escape from death.

Surely, You will crush the heads of Your enemies. You will summon them from the depths of the sea and wash Your feet in their blood.

You are triumphant!

Your procession parades triuphantly and Your holiness prevails over the earth!
The singers are out front, the musiciansplay from behind. The dancers are in between the grand gala procession. In chorus they shout! "Bless God, Adonai, You are the source of victory!

O God, summon Your strength ad loose it over the earth. Hear my cry for Your righteousness. Bring forth the New Jerusalem that we may all bring our tribute before Your throne.

I will sing to the God over all the kingdoms of the earth!
I will sing praises to Adonai!

Hear my voice, O Ancient of Days. Strength belongs to You alone. Majesty is Yours alone. You are awe. You are all power. Blessed be the Name of the Lord.

Maranatha!
