Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the USA. Thank You for the rich heritage that embraces a past of looking to You for guidance. Thank You that we have this heritage that proclaimed, “In God We Trust.” You have been our trust, and You have been our protection. You have made us great and caused us to prosper.

We have abandoned You. Forgive us. We have rested and celebrated our own accomplishment. We have strayed from the principles of justice, and we have redefined our society in direct defiance to the guidance of Your Word. Forgive us. Father, we are now teaching these new definitions to children and youth in our schools. We are teaching them falsehoods, we are proliferating that which is in defiance to Your Truths. Forgive us. We are a rebellious nation. Help us change.

Father, show us the path to bring back our textbooks to align with Your Word. We have tried our own programs, "No Child Left Behind" and now "Common Core.” Neither align with Your Word. Forgive us for not appealing to You for guidance. Forgive us, Your church, for not seeking You diligently on this matter. Forgive us for not standing up and speaking, in the public realm, when we have had opportunity, or when You have directed us. Forgive us for being silent. Show us a better way.

Father, raise up voices to speak Truth. Show us the path to find opportunity and lead those in position of change. that our schools are in trouble. Give us the words to redirect our path to return to You. Grant us a tenacity to stand our ground and speak with intelligent persuasion. May our lives clearly demonstrate that what we say is credible, reliable, and beneficial.

Father, let us pour out our hearts before You. Cause parents to rise up. Where they have expected the government to raise their children, may they no long be silent. Open their eyes to see the result. May there be an uproar in prayer closets across our nation. May these people unite to demand change in a manner that pleases You, and that brings others to the conclusion that You have the best way. Open their hearts to want what is “best.”

We need Your help where our schools are concerned. Our textbooks are alarmingly and openly rebellious. Show us the path to return to Your Truth rather than our own.

Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and this nation. Thank You for the enormous blessings that You have poured out over this country. We have been a home to free trade and competitive markets. We see this waning as regulation continues to crush and stress our economic growth. Father the recession has been onerous.

Yet, small businesses have, historically, brought us out of recessions. Would you equip us with a flourish of activity? A flourish of creativity? Would government agencies, federal and local, support the growth of the small business…by Your hand? Would you grant us a lobby to promote and support small businesses rather than the excessive control and taxation that cripples them?

For these small business owners, give us a heart to operate in accordance with Your Word. Give us a heart for honesty, integrity and insight into business practices that bless You and that You can bless. May these practices permeate not only our business outreach, but also employees, the manner in which they are treated, and that each employee receive fair compensation for his or her work. Press us, the small business community, to accomplish this and to desire it for our employees. May there be, once again, a sense of loyally to the business because of the honorably that is found there.

Father, may we once again return to an awareness and proclamation that this is One Nation Under God. May we be aware, and may we proclaim that we can be prosperous if we turn to You. Show us this path, for businesses, employees, and those in government that impact the growth of the U.S. economy.

Give us all insights on what will be successful and what is dishonorable. Show us the path to return to You and strengthen us, all of us, that we may once again stand before Your throne of grace.

For godly counsel and God-fearing advisers for those in authority, No. 1

***That those in authority in our nation would be given godly counsel and God-fearing advisors.

Proverbs 24:6
6 For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.

Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the day and for each person who has taken a position of authority, including our government, our schools, and our churches. I have trusted them to make godly decisions, but I have not prayed for their godly counsel. I have not asked for Your protection. Forgive me.

Father, these people must be barraged by the enemy. There must be defining chatter to them all day long. People with second agendas, self-serving, and desirous of influence. Protect these men and women. Give them discernment to the motivations of the people who approach them. Grant them a heart to serve, that they may stand before You, on that day, when they are called to make account.

Separate those individuals who would serve as godly advisors. Bring together an army of godly men and women, who are filled with godly counsel. May Your Spirit be upon them and may they hear clearly and advise soundly.

Raise up prayer warriors to cover those in authority with Your protection. I ask this also for their families. Protect their families and their contributions and presence to their spouses and children, so that they are not distracted when it is time make decisions.

May they recognize wise counsel, and treasure Your “wisdom from above.” May it be clear to them what is the direction that would be pleasing to You, and in the best interest of those who will be affected by their decisions. There are many who will administer these decisions. Grant them wisdom as well. And may this nation, once again be pleasing in Your sight.

For our American Youth, No. 1

***That American Youth would respect authority and practice accountability.

1 Tim 4:12
Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for our young people and their resilience. Thank You for their eagerness to bring change and desire to contribute. Father, they seek meaning in their lives, and they seek to make a difference. Thank You for them.

Our youth seem to have become wayward, disrespectful. But I must ask, have we shown them this path? Have we been wayward to Your Word and disrespectful of You and of them? Have we been dismissive to their calls to help, to contribute? Father, as we have turned our back to You, they have turned their back to us. Forgive us. Turn us around —all of us.

Show us how to set an example for our youth. Open our eyes to be keenly aware that our words, ways—our actions are being watched with great curiosity. Help us to live our lives, realizing that we are teaching our youth. Open our hearts to include them in our daily work and conversation. Give us a heart to reach out to them and be genuinely interested in their day, their challenges and their solutions, not just to their concerns, but to ours as well. Show us how to connect with them in meaningful ways.

You bring us to accountability; all of us. We will all stand before You and be held accountable for our actions, our thoughts, and our words. May we all live accordingly. Father, how can youth respect authority, if we aren’t respectful to Your authority? Help us to be accountable to You and to them! Show us this path for your church to practice accountability to each other and include the youth in that. Show us how to become solid, servant leaders and set the path, that our youth may see it, experience the results.

May our youth delve into Your Word and find Truth. May they have a heart to embrace it and value it. May they seek Your wisdom and hold it high esteem—as priceless. Father, please raise up leaders among our youth who will show the way. Please raise up “connectors” that will bridge the gap between themselves, their friend, and the older generations. Draw us together and show us the path. May all of us be diligent as we look to the time when we will stand before You and be held accountable.

Our Judges, Ten Commandments, Teachings of Christ, No. 1

***That our judges would value and regard the Ten Commandments and the teachings of Christ.

7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and for Your graciousness in the U.S. Father, we have turned our back on Your Word, Your guidance with regard to the teachings of Christ. Many people have banned together to remove the 10 Commandments from sight and Your church has not banned together to stop this movement to irradiate any reference to You from our land. Yet, I fear that Your judgement is imminent—at the door.

Forgive us where we have fallen short. Forgive us when the principles of Your Word have been vehemently disregarded and we have not made our voice known. Forgive us when we have not come to You in prayer and prayed fervently for those who oppose You in utter rebellion.

Our judges have valued the desires of the people rather than the foundation of our Constitution. Forgive us when we have not supported those in the fight. Show us how to do so. Move in the hearts of this people, that we would see the value of Your Commandments and the value of the teachings of Christ. Move in the lives of true believers to demonstrate that these truths have set us free.

Father, work in the lives of Your Church to come before You, regularly, to uphold this nation. There are unprecedented weather patterns that have not been seen before. People are in dire situations and many have lost their families. So many people are starting over. May there be people there with Your Word, that this nation can start anew and again proclaim that we are One Nation Under God.

Those who minister to the hurting, those in urgent need —may they carry with them the Gospel of Christ. May they offer the spiritual food that saves the soul, and the drink of Living Water that is Christ Jesus.

Raise us up; those who believe. Move in our hearts and press us to rise up and take heed of our nation. Raise us up as an army of prayer warriors to fight these battles for our moral definition and our cultural direction. May Your Church win over the souls the enemy has taken, one at a time. Grant us unceasing prayer on behalf of the souls of this nation. Fill our hearts with compassion for the individual and horror of the proliferation of rebellion and evil.

Father, when we stand before you, may our account be clear on this matter. Press us to fulfill our obedience to Your will for us. Show us the path to commit every part of our will to Your purposes. And may the hearts of those around us see Truth and seek Him, Jesus Christ: the Way, the Truth, the Life.

Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and thank You for Your Word. Thank You that You receive us and that Your Word tells us so. Thank You that You are the True Living God.

Our nation has trusted in ourselves rather that You. We have trusted in our own words and judgement and turned away from Your Word. Forgive us. It has not worked and we are still hungry for truth, thirsty for justice. We have not been able to fill the emptiness within us. Thank You.

Father, grant us a desire to connect with You and to know what You have for us. Plant within us that this need to connect with You and direct us to Your Living Word. Open our eyes to Your Word and may we delight in the messages that You have for us. Open our understanding that what we see may be relevant. May Your Word draw us in and hold us fascinated that the God of all creation has sent us a message. Show each individual that it is personally for them.

You created families. Thank You. May they be drawn together with Your Word as the center. Unite families through Your Word. May there be games of memorization, enjoyment in reciting, proclaiming, and simply loving You through the Bible. Establish patterns and habits within us to daily seek You through the Bible.

Father, the world summons us, and does so with great tenacity. Help us to prioritize our thinking so that the things above take precedent over the things on earth. Life draws us in, but so does the enemy. Give us discernment.

Jesus, You fought temptation with Scripture. Thank You for Your example. Holy Spirit, show us how learn and memorize Your Word to fight temptation. May it be so sweet in our hearts and minds that we love You, love Your Word and are drawn to obedience so strongly that we disengage from anything that prevents us from coming before You daily.

Through You Word, may we find Your holiness. May it be mesmerizing. May we be fixated on Your wonder, Your purity and Your love for us, and may it bring us to worship. Show us the path to be excited to worship the Most High God. May families be strengthened by reading the Bible together, and worship You as a family. May this be a part of their identity that they value and may it be established as a life long habit that never wanes.

Heavenly Father,
You are Truth and You cannot lie. Thank You that You are for us. Your Word is Truth. Jesus Christ, You are the Way, the Truth and the Life.

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Thank You that You do not swiftly cast us away. Thank You that You beckon us to come to You and ask for help in time of need. Father, our nation is in dire need of Your help. Hear our prayers.

Father, we have become a nation that loves sensation. Forgive us. Our media has brought about a fixation on our senses. We have been drawn in and have not prayed to stop it, or even attempted to reel in the barrage of bias messaging through advertising. It is everywhere. Even our newscasts feed our desire for entertainment—to indulge ourselves through our senses. We ignore the facts and fixate on our desire to be entertained. Forgive us.

Proverbs 6:16-19
These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

So much of the media in our nation has gone off course. Forgive us for not praying. Father, raise up honest journalism that reports without bias. Raise up leaders in the media communities that desire the proliferation of truth, integrity and dignity. Give these leaders position and the clout to set the bar high as a standard for reporting.

Father, we have given up Truth for opinion and opinion is reported as truth. Forgive us for the times when sensationalism gave way to unbias reporting. Forgive us when the retraction of a lie was intentionally hidden. We have stolen from people by using the media to promote self-interest. Father, how shall we respond to bias reporting? Raise up watch-dog groups that would promote truth.

In this nation, may we be lovers of truth. Show us our part to cleanse ourselves from our propensity to indulge in sensationalism. Raise up an army that would promote honest journalism and give us tools and means to thwart the dishonest media. Turn the hearts of those who have promoted their own agendas. Some reporters have published lies - to promote their careers. Draw them to repentance. Guide their hearts to love truth and to report what is decent and in good order.

Many leaders in companies, in the media industry promote their personal agendas, rather than truth. They have encouraged those who work for them to go beyond the facts. They have promoted the agendas of politicians, big business, and knowingly supported dishonest publications. Call them to love truth. Give them a heart to repent.

Raise up a demand for the facts from the media in the USA. Draw us to love truth, to speak up and to defend honest reporting and to do our part when the media misleads and misguides. Show us our part to bring our nation back to honoring You and strengthen us for the journey.

Hollywood, Negative Influences, Media Creations, No. 1

***That those in Hollywood would be convicted of any negative influences of their media creations.

Colossians 3: 5-8
5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: 7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. 8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for all the media madness that has gripped our technological nation. It has made information so readily available. We have news and entertainment at our disposal 24/7. Which is which? It’s hard to tell sometimes.

The substance of entertainment has nose-dived as we observe what comes out of Hollywood, by and large. I have seen this. I have witnessed the degradation of television which fills the eyes and minds of our youth, in disgust, I turned away. But I have not prayed. I have not prayed for those who make this visual and aural filth. I have not prayed for those who sell it, or for those who indulge in it. Forgive me. Lead my prayers.

Father, intimacy has been abandoned in favor of public indecency. Help Lord. Restore to us the values of modesty and intimacy, carefully protected. Women have become so immodest—and cry “Foul” when they are treated poorly. Forgive us. “Hollywood” has leached onto our immodesty, our poor treatment of women, of each other. As a culture, and as a nation, we have sought what is more and more of a spectacle.

It seems that Your Church has turned its head in disgust and responded with judgement. Turn us around. Show us the result of having abandoned these people who hunger and thirst after genuine care and love. Give us a heart for those around us who are so desperate for love that they would sell the only thing they think they have…their bodies.

Hollywood has take advantage of the failures in our culture. So many have made movies that teach indecent behavior to our youth, and it has become so commonplace that our nation accepts the unacceptable as “normal”. Forgive us. Open the eyes and ears of every person in Hollywood as to the ramifications of their “creations” …

Father, our language has become filthy with insinuations of sexual misconduct as a common day occurrence. Modesty has been abandoned for indecency. We accept it as part of the world that You warned us about, rather than ministering to these people who need to know about Your love for them. How can we reverse this?

Open the eyes of those who engage in these activities. Let them see what people, especially our youth, have taken from their creations. Open the hearts of Your Church to seek these people out and proclaim Your genuine love for them. Give us a directive, a mandate, push us, drive us—fill us with compassion—that we take it to these souls, whom You love and proclaim that You are God who cares, loves, and redeems.

Our Schools, Teachers and Administrators

***That teachers and administrators would be open to God’s Word in our schools.

1 John 5:2
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your love and thank You, Jesus, for Your example on how to demonstrate Your Love. Holy Spirit, You lead and direct us to fill our lives with obedience and the desire to keep God’s commandments. Hear this prayer for our schools, the teachers and the administrators.

Father, we have, as a nation, sent our children to schools and allowed the government to mandate how they run. I have not prayed diligently for our schools or those who run them. I have not been diligent is praying for teachers and those who prepare them for professional service. Forgive me.

Father, why do teachers choose the profession? These individuals have a heart to help students, to change lives. We don’t pay them enough for their motivation to be anything else. The school systems have not maintained order and so often the environment is not conducive to learning. Forgive us and raise up prayer warriors for our teachers, administrators, for the children, and for our future. Forgive us for the assumptions we have made as we send our children to school. Raise us up with a voice to bring change to our schools that reflect biblical values. Show us the path to bring Your Word back into the day of each child. Father, may Your Word be read again in every classroom.

Touch our children and give them a heart to learn about Truth. Miraculously give parents a heart and a discipline to participate in the education of their children. Give them a voice, a message, and a determination to oversee the schools where their children attend and schools in their neighborhoods. Raise up voices and leaders to have an impact to support quality, Bible-based education in the U.S.

Father, choose people and press them to run for the Board of Education in their communities. Engage true servants to bring light and process to improve the educational facilities where they live. Give them messages that would build support and a path to bring light into the school systems. Raise up encouragers for the teachers who daily toil to help change the lives of our children, our future.

May the hearts of teachers rise up and may they find creative ways to teach Truth. Truth about the origin of our national history, our early leaders and their faith, truth about You, truth about our culture. Father, our culture has changed so much and we, as a nation, have ceased from seeing value in our children, Our future seems to have been reduced to our day and we have lost a vision for our future and the role that our children will play. Forgive us and restore our vision. Bring a deep sense of responsibility to You on this matter.

Restore and protect a love of children, their well being and safety to our teachers and administrators. In every school system, cause a unity of purpose to be surrounded by Your Word and protected by Your Might. Secure these facilities, physically, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually, that a desire for righteousness, as YOU define it can be planted and can grow, nurtured by Your Spirit.

May everyone involved: parents, children, teachers, staff, administrators, superintendents, Boards of Education, the local, state and federal government - may every person unite on this matter and bring us a resolve to restore our schools and teaching to embrace the principles of Your Word. Father, there are many of us, who have turned our backs on the education systems in our communities. Turn us around. Raise up a desire to become active. May every person be accountable to You and fulfill those actions that would bring our schools in alignment with Your Word.

Judges and Supreme Court Justices, No. 1

***That our judges and Supreme Court justices would adjudicate with godly wisdom.

Proverbs 29:2
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this nation that was founded on the desire for justice as defined by godly wisdom. Your Word tells us You are Holy and You hate injustice. May we seek You for the wisdom that brings justice as You define it.

We have sets of people, our Supreme Court justices, who set the laws of our land. They have not protected the rights of all people. They have had the last word in redefining marriage, in the separation of “church and state” … Father, we have not prayed for them as we should. Forgive us. We have not prayed for the direction of our nation and I have watched from the sideline and not participated, even in the privacy of prayer. Forgive me.

I bring these justices before You and the enormity of their decisions. They need Your godly wisdom. Your Word tells us to treasure wisdom.

Psalms 19:7
The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple

May our judges and justices have an insatiable hunger for Your wisdom. May they throw relativism out and seek You. Furnish them with Your Word and may it feed their souls. May they understand that they lack wisdom in and of themselves and may the diligently seek You.

James 1:5
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all [men] liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Father, may this be their prayer. Open their eyes to the fact that they will stand before You at the end of their days. Impress upon them to seek You that they may stand without shame, knowing they have been diligent. Establish within each heart that they are incapable, truly, they are inept without You, the Founder of True Wisdom.

Delight their hearts with Your Word. May they lavish in it, read it, and delight in it. May the fascination of Your Word so entice them that they seek You in every decision that they make. May each one find relationship with You that is foundational to living and may they seek Your help in their daily walk.

Father, press upon these men and women that their decisions are grave. Press upon them the gravity of their work and may they understand that they are weak, inept, and flawed. May the light of Christ, The Living Word, be their fortress, their wisdom and the foundation of their decisions.

Bring many Spirit-filled believers around them to pray, support and encourage each one of these men and women, and may they have rest and peace, knowing that they serve the Most High God in their work for this nation.
