1 Tim 4:12Please pray with me:
Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
Heavenly Father,
You are the Most High God. Thank You for Your graciousness and praise be to Jesus Christ, Your Son, who has secured salvation for all who will accept. All of the earth testifies that You are the Creator; that You are true; that You are patient, kind, and also a God of justice and righteousness. All the earth proclaims Your glory. Open our eyes to the comprehensive scope of who You are to us, that we may humbly fall on our knees and worship. You are worthy of worship.
There is enormous pressure on our American youth. They deal with great consternation and begin their adulthood with many years of constant messaging against their success. The weight is unimaginable. There are the messages of climate change and the doom of global warming; of our unimaginable national debt; of our broken political system and healthcare system. Father, they see a culture that is fractured in so many dimensions. The internet has given them access to so much information and news of the moment. Truly it is overwhelming to us all.
How are they to cope? Many are glued to their technology. What do they seek? Hope? Community? Belonging? Voice? Significance? Answers? You? We pray for them.
I ask You to cause mentors to rise up for them; men and women of Your Word. Bring in an army! Raise up an army of people with a heart for our youth! People who know how to listen. Men and women who will listen and hear! Mentors who are credible to our youth. Give our youth a discernment to choose wisely when deciding on their influencers. Give them a reasonability to think about their future.
Father, there are no answers without You. Their world cannot make sense without You. Their paths are all filled with the outpouring of this world and our sin. Cause us to repent. We have set their stage with our sin. Yes. My sin has contributed to the pressures that they face. Help me to repent. Forgive me and help me to take responsibility for my actions.
Raise up encouragers! Help me to be part of this army of people who listen to our youth, who have a heart for them and who can encourage them. Grant us credibility in their eyes when we discuss Your Word and the direction that they can find there. As they realize that they cannot fix what is going on here, may they seek You diligently for the path that will lead them t honorability when they stand before You.
Reveal Yourself to them in unique ways and raise up evangelists among them. Give them words that bring comfort, hope, and courage. Give our youth purpose as defined by a life lived for Christ! May it be their joy to proclaim the Gospel to their peers. Give them many organized networks of prayer warriors, evangelists, teachers, and caregivers. Father, cause them to establish an integrated network of communities that staunchly follow and proclaim Christ. Grant them malleable hearts that are Your delight.
Father, may our Youth find examples of accountability and see the wisdom. So much of our culture encourages them to do whatever they want and do so with consequences. Yet, You are going to hold us accountable. Reveal this to them and give them a heart to staunchly establish their path to follow the ethical and moral guidelines You have given us in Your Word, for our protection.
Authority is a tough thing here. Father, those in authority have not acted with credibility. Instead, many "leaders" have led our youth down the path of destruction and called it acceptable. The media has relentlessly told them that the outright rebellion of all that You have established—is better. Truly, good is evil and evil is good.
Isaiah 5Raise up leaders for them and from them. Help our youth to choose wisely whom they will follow. Clear out the muck and mire that has been laid before them and show them the bridge of Jesus Christ to know You, live for You, commune with You and live their lives in fullness ...because of Jesus' work on the cross. May this reality be their commitment and their Truth. May they never waver or question it in their heart.
20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:
23 Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!
24 Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
In Jesus’ Name.
