***For the love of Jesus, and the reality of hope through Him..the prayers of my heart
Please pray with me.
Havenly Father,
My heart is heavy as I survey the news. This nation seems to be bereft of sanity.
Confession:
The news reads like Sodom and Gomorrah, Babylon, Corinth. We have such confusion about gender, and whether unborn babies are actually live people. Has extortion become commonplace? Government, business, marriages, schools...it seems so.
Women are being extorted by men and companies. Women are extorting men such that it is impossible to know who has suffered loss and who is wielding power through the social media.
You know. You are Truth. We need You.
Greed seems to have spread like those California fires. Every opportunity to make money has been seized. Greed for money and power, and a need to dominate has reached into the depth of our very society. Discussion has gone by the wayside at every level.
Father, the fabric of this society is imploding. Have mercy.
Division has permeated everything. We are divided about race, gender, marriage...these are the foundation of our society and how we identify ourselves. We are divided in our politics, our leadership...the expression of our identity as a nation.
Father, society as a whole is collapsing. Have mercy.
Praise:
Praise to God who is merciful! You are the God who knows. You are omniscient. You see, You care, You are the God of Justice and of mercy. Have mercy on us. We are feeble and like sheep, we have gone astray.
You are the God who came and lived among us. Thank You, for You know our challenges and understand us. You are privy to the conversations we have with ourselves and with each other. There is nowhere to hide from You. Thank You.
You are sovereign and Your goodness is everlasting. Your justice will not be withheld forever. Have mercy O God of mercy.
Petittion:
Bring reasonability to this land. Move in our hearts. We cannot pull this apart. I ask that You lead and guide us to make Your will known and to give us a heart to do Your will.
For pastors and the Body of Christ.
You have given power and authority to the Body of Christ. Yet it is not preached from the pulpits. May that change. May pastors be convicted to talk about sin. May they be fearless and place the message of Your heart for each congregation before them. Father, call Your church to arise. Call us to rise up and speak the Gospel to those around us.
For politicians and for President Trump:
Father, may there be focus on collaboration and finding solutions. Dismiss the spirit of dissension, of un-reason-able-ness. Show us how to rid ourselves of the hatred that seems to demand a voice.
Our President, Vice President need "the wisdom that is from above" and You are the only source. Our Congress is in the greatest disarray of history. Hatred and blindness prevail. Dissension and deafness take center-stage. Father, our court system fights for credibility and the path is obscure. Have mercy. I ask it.
For those engaged in the non-profit and service sector:
Father, raise up those who are truly making a difference in a way that You are glorified. Many seek to make a difference and genuinely are moved by the challenges facing this nation. Establish the organizations doing Your work. Pour out Your provision upon them. May they identify with Your hand of gracious provision and give You the glory.
For businesses and their workers:
Father, many businesses are behaving poorly. Raise up those that apply Your principals of fair-ness, of quality goods and services, and who care about more than the bottom line, but instead, care about how the bottom-line is created. Bring businesses to the realization that their employees make or break them. I ask for fair treatment and diligent employees. Give them hope through Jesus Christ.
For the underemployed and unemployed:
You have made us to work. It is amazing! Our dignity comes back. Our self-worth comes into focus. I ask for jobs for the unemployed and underemployed...jobs that utilize their god-given skills and attributes. You know what they are. May these people call out to You and may Jesus Christ be credited for changes in their situation. Restore those who put their trust in You.
For pregnant and single mothers:
The hardship on these people is crushing. Father, reinstall the joy the gladness of children. May unborn children be protected. May Your church rise up to bring the support needed by single mothers and to one-parent children. Call upon Your church to rise to this need across our nation. And may their support reduce and eliminate the perceived need for abortion. Show us how to care, how to support, and how to raise up and enable these people to live in accordance with Your Word.
Father, this nation, that I love, needs You. Have mercy...for Jesus' sake,
...that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

The one critical question that will truly reduce abortion in the U.S....the prayer of one sinner
For the U.S. to take ownership and stop killing babies through abortion
Please pray with me.
Oh Father, the words of Senator Ben Sasse ring in my ears as 46 out of 97 senators voted to "continue discussion" on the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.
...my midwife-and-nurse friend clearly makes a case that there is so much more to this than convenience.
Confessing my own hypocracy:
I confess that I have dismissed those who are pro-abortion and lumped them into one group of people who, for the convenience of their comfortable life, elect abortion.
I have forgotten those who can't feed or manage the children they have and who crumble at the thought of one more mouth to feed, one more child to care for.
I have ignored the reality that as children grow, the needs become more sophisticated and complex...and at that time, much of the support has disappeared!
I have ignored that there may be "initial care" for mothers in need, but the long-term needs are even greater and the care dwindles.
By lumping together all people who choose abortion into one group who crave personal convenience and comfort, I have been a hypocrite. I did so for my own convenience.
Forgive me and show me my part.
Repentence:
I give You thanks that You are Truth. You are holy and Your ways are perfect. I bend my knee. I commit to listening to Your Spirit, to define my part, and to be obedient to Your leading.
The critical question:
What would give mother's (and fathers!) of the unborn babies long-term hope that the support they need will be there for them?
The needs are overwhelming and last for the remainder of the life of these parents. Raise up Your church to take a personal interest and provision for those in their community who are making a choice. Raise up Your church to commit to long-term assistance.
Give us, Your church, a heart for these people who are caught. Help us to dismiss out criticism and judgement on them. Move our hearts to actively pour out Your grace on each situation.
Grant us an intense need to reach out. Give us new ideas on how to help by building communities of support. Bring along organizers to organize, lay ministers to minister, and may the blight of this sin be preached from the pulpits of this nation—that we may be rid of this curse that is upon us.
Raise up Your church. You are the God of Life. Help us align our support to ensure life and hope for those in this industry and those who are in need.
...all that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

Senator Ben Sasse:This nation, that I love, The United States of America, has, yet again, decided to go its own way and ignore Your Word:
A hefty majority (it's not close) of Americans support this legislation including:This should not be a partisan issue and in the future it won't [be].
- a super majority of women,
- including most young people,
- including most independents,
- and now ticking up just shy of half of all Democrats.
It's going to be a bi-partisan issue, because you have to tell the truth, that those pictures, are pictures of babies and they are alive and they deserve our protection.

- The immediate care isn't obvious either...what about the other children?
- There are the basic needs: food, shelter and clothing.
- So many "other" needs: safety, a clean and pleasant place to live and grow.
- What about their emotional needs? Support for parents: financial, medical, emotional and so many other needs.
- Childcare. Father it is a never-ending need, even when the children become adults.
- What about the emotional support, when mother and child go home...when "life" starts again.
- this list is endless. And if we truly desire to shut down the abortion industry, we need to address it.
Give us, Your church, a heart for these people who are caught. Help us to dismiss out criticism and judgement on them. Move our hearts to actively pour out Your grace on each situation.

Hope for a fractured nation —divided against itself...a prayer for unity
Hope for a fractured nation divided against itself...a prayer for unity.
Please pray with me.
Father, Your Word:
I love this nation: The United States of America. The USA, where You have placed me. I am grateful beyond words that I live here and have the freedoms that have blessed this nation. So many people have poured out their very life for the freedoms that I enjoy each day.
I give You thanks. Yet my heart is heavy over the division that has captured the minds and hearts of this nation. It seems that one cause or another has brought disunity everywhere I look. People seem to be consumed with their flavor of disruption. Many seem to seek division in every conversation. It seems to have become our identity. Forgive us.
Father, the division is alarming. It is literally disarming and we are totally vulnerable.
Our nation is fractured.
Sanctity of Life:
You are the Giver of Life. (Genesis 2:7) Open the eyes of our hearts to understand that life is a gift and not ours to take. Unless You show us this way, it is not possible that we can find it on our own.
Forgive us for being so consumed on our own self-interests that we cannot look wider than our immediate desires. Please, God of Mercy, do not leave us in this condition.
Racial Division:
Father, raise up voices of unity between the races. This is not a new struggle, but it is more complex with more factions involved: Hispanic, Black, White, Asian, Latinos, and others. We need Your help. Yes, raise up hearts that reach across the divide of race and extend a smile of welcome, a hand of true acceptance.
Bind us together as one to fight for common causes of worth: to help the hungry and the homeless...to reach out to those without hope and by Your Spirit - lift them up.
Marriage:
Surely, Lord God, we are making up our own rules to accommodate our desires. The redefinition of marriage is a place of deep grief. Your Word is so clear and the ramifications of this choice are also clear. Yet, we have taken this path. Call us to repent, to confess, and to plead for mercy. We look to the statistics to justify our choices, and when they do not, we cover them up.
Yet, there are those who adhere to Your Word. Give us a heart to reach those who are pushing the agenda of redefining marriage and further defiling our nation.
Religion:
Father, this has become so complex. We have Muslim against Christian, Muslims against Muslims, and Christians against Christians. Is it no wonder that so many people have become disappointed and left the entire of concept of Your being?
Within Your true Church - those who have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, I ask for unity... unity and desire to love each other. Your Word tells us that "they" will know we are Christians by our love. Give us a heart to love each other. Unify Your church within the individual churches.
Redirect our minds and hearts to organize in prayer and outreach to demonstrate Your Gospel, the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. May these demonstrations be a part of every day as we seek You, speak our faith, and respond to help those in need. Give us eyes to see the need of others, and motivate us as to how we can meet those needs. May we put down our differences and unify to proclaim the Good News.
Politics:
What a befuddlement. How can we pray effectively for our government and leaders. You command us to do so, but putting it into practice has become a challenge.
Father, I ask for wisdom for our leaders—national, state, and civic. Wisdom to seek out their own hearts and put aside their anger and frustration and find Your grace. Please place a desire for unity across the lines of division. I include our Senate and House: both nationally and at the state level. Grant them insights to see pathways that will bring people together and unify them across political lines.
Please give them ideas on how to show the love of Christ to each other, remembering that perfect love casts out fear. Bring Your perfect love into their daily situations. Grant these leaders self-control. Fill their hearts with new words, new responses. Please bring unity to our political venues.

Hope and momentum for the uprising of conscience...in support of the pro-life movement
Hope and momentum for the uprising of conscience...in support of the pro-life movement.
Please pray with me.
Heavenly Father,
Your Word:
Father, we lost our way and You know all the motivations that caused us to legalize abortion. Have mercy on us. Speak to us and prick our conscience that we may turn from this wickedness and find the much-needed grace which You lavishly hold in reserve for us. You assure us that Your mercies are renewed every morning and Your faithfulness never fails. Thank You.
So many have brought to my attention that the issue isn't as simple as we may think. My heart is heavey and I grieve. But You are our hope and the God who can help us to focus on the pathway through this blight.
For the Pro-Life Movement:
Father, You have a brilliant spokesperson: Jeanne Mancini. She wants to make abortion "unthinkable." ...and there are people and organizations that join her and stand for life. Cause many to rise up in support of her and every initiative that honors You regarding this matter.
Raise them up, O God. Raise up Right for Life! Raise up those who speak out for the unborn, Paul Ryan, President Trump, and so many others.
Give people words and enliven them such that the words can't remain inside these speakers. Compel them to give these words birth, and to bring these words from You, into the light of day! Establish within us, the American people, an awareness of these actions and a commitment and determination to speak out for life. Give the hearers, ears to hear truth and an eagerness to embrace it and actively take up this cause.
Father, may pastors speak out from the pulpits and call abortion what it is: murder. Give them the gentleness needed for those who have been a part of the abortion movement, and mothers who have had abortions. Give them the words of assurance that there is forgiveness and freedom if people will confess and repent. O Father, this is the Gospel. May the Gospel be preached from the pulpits in this nation regarding the pro-life movement.
May those in this nation who support pro-life rise up. May side-liners be convicted that they are here for "such a time as this" (Esther 4:14). Pour out compelling speech that brings others on board.
For Pressure on Federal Funding:
Father, surely, this is part of our greatest shame...we, every American, is paying for the funding of abortions. Please, may Your Holy Spirit exert enormous pressure that this stop. Congressional elections are soon. Some people are running on the pro-choice, pro-abortion platform...hidden behind so many lies from the pit of hell:
To stop the spread of "the next steps":
Selective abortion and designer children:
Father, You know where this can go. You are watching and nothing escapes Your knowledge, including the expansion of this heinous concept. From legalized abortion, there is s spread to "selective abortions"... targeting and leading to the extinction of entire populations of people.
Parents want perfect children—perfect by their definition. We have this ability to "see" into the womb and to identify characteristics of these children. This is being used by the medical profession and those who believe they can profit from this capability, to pressure parents to abort children who are, in any way, "defective."
Surely, this has proliferated to every physical attribute that can now be controlled through DNA testing and alterations. We want designer children. Genetics...help us bring these technologies to submit to the directives of Your Word.
Legalized suicide, euthanasia:
Father, we have twisted so much: the right to life to "the right to die"... the potential of this movement is alarming. We want control of every aspect of "Life." Forgive us as we strip You of Your directives—placed in Your Word for our protection. Help us to come to our senses. We can't do this on our own. Have mercy O God.
For those caught-up as victims in the abortion industry:
Mothers who have had abortions and their families:
Father, Your love never fails. Pour out Your solutions. May each person who feels guilt, learn and embrace Jesus Christ and His salvation and Your grace to help in time of need.
There are many who have had abortions and do not know they too are victims of the enemy. They believe lies. Yet, as painful as this may be, I ask that they see truth, that they may come to the Living God who will not fail them.
Doctors and medical staff:
Is there regret? Guilt? Have these people had to choose between participation and providing for their family? You have a way out. Cause them to seek You. Direct them to the road of repentance and to find Your true provision for them, for their families, and to know that You will take care of them. Give them the unction to "make haste" to leave this work.
Silence the lies to drop from the earth, and raise up Truth, that we may be set free.
Raise us up...that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

Lamentations 3:22-23In spite of Your clear Word on these matters, we continue to push the gamut and we have made into law, the right of a person to end a life. Have mercy, O God. Raise up our conscience to face the casualties and the results of our decisions:
It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
- An outpouring of guilt on so many that are involved.
- Brothers and sisters suffering from "survivors guilt"
- Naked families - bereft of sons and daughters, siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles...
- Untold heartache...wondering what might that child have contributed...
- The loss of the joy that only a child can bring
- Lost growth from hardships that were never endured
- The loss of the intellect and and artistic renderings that might have come forth
For the Pro-Life Movement:
Father, You have a brilliant spokesperson: Jeanne Mancini. She wants to make abortion "unthinkable." ...and there are people and organizations that join her and stand for life. Cause many to rise up in support of her and every initiative that honors You regarding this matter.
Raise them up, O God. Raise up Right for Life! Raise up those who speak out for the unborn, Paul Ryan, President Trump, and so many others.
Give people words and enliven them such that the words can't remain inside these speakers. Compel them to give these words birth, and to bring these words from You, into the light of day! Establish within us, the American people, an awareness of these actions and a commitment and determination to speak out for life. Give the hearers, ears to hear truth and an eagerness to embrace it and actively take up this cause.
Father, may pastors speak out from the pulpits and call abortion what it is: murder. Give them the gentleness needed for those who have been a part of the abortion movement, and mothers who have had abortions. Give them the words of assurance that there is forgiveness and freedom if people will confess and repent. O Father, this is the Gospel. May the Gospel be preached from the pulpits in this nation regarding the pro-life movement.
May those in this nation who support pro-life rise up. May side-liners be convicted that they are here for "such a time as this" (Esther 4:14). Pour out compelling speech that brings others on board.
For Pressure on Federal Funding:
Father, surely, this is part of our greatest shame...we, every American, is paying for the funding of abortions. Please, may Your Holy Spirit exert enormous pressure that this stop. Congressional elections are soon. Some people are running on the pro-choice, pro-abortion platform...hidden behind so many lies from the pit of hell:
- "Planned Parenthood"
- The Safe Abortion Action Fund
- NARAL
- The National Abortion Foundation
- Over-population
- "A woman's right to control her body"
- The Affordable Care Act
To stop the spread of "the next steps":
Selective abortion and designer children:
Father, You know where this can go. You are watching and nothing escapes Your knowledge, including the expansion of this heinous concept. From legalized abortion, there is s spread to "selective abortions"... targeting and leading to the extinction of entire populations of people.
Parents want perfect children—perfect by their definition. We have this ability to "see" into the womb and to identify characteristics of these children. This is being used by the medical profession and those who believe they can profit from this capability, to pressure parents to abort children who are, in any way, "defective."
Surely, this has proliferated to every physical attribute that can now be controlled through DNA testing and alterations. We want designer children. Genetics...help us bring these technologies to submit to the directives of Your Word.
Legalized suicide, euthanasia:
Father, we have twisted so much: the right to life to "the right to die"... the potential of this movement is alarming. We want control of every aspect of "Life." Forgive us as we strip You of Your directives—placed in Your Word for our protection. Help us to come to our senses. We can't do this on our own. Have mercy O God.
For those caught-up as victims in the abortion industry:
Mothers who have had abortions and their families:
Father, Your love never fails. Pour out Your solutions. May each person who feels guilt, learn and embrace Jesus Christ and His salvation and Your grace to help in time of need.
There are many who have had abortions and do not know they too are victims of the enemy. They believe lies. Yet, as painful as this may be, I ask that they see truth, that they may come to the Living God who will not fail them.
Doctors and medical staff:
Is there regret? Guilt? Have these people had to choose between participation and providing for their family? You have a way out. Cause them to seek You. Direct them to the road of repentance and to find Your true provision for them, for their families, and to know that You will take care of them. Give them the unction to "make haste" to leave this work.
Silence the lies to drop from the earth, and raise up Truth, that we may be set free.
Raise us up...that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

California Mudslides and devastation...an appeal to God for mercy
A prayer for those affected by the California mudslides.
Please pray with me.
Heavenly Father,
Your Word:
You control the weather, and many are tempted to say,
Every part of my body wants to scream and plead with You as I look upon this devastation. Yet, You bid me to come with praise and thanksgiving and I submit to Your Word.
Praise:
For those who have lost loved ones.
Father, You alone know the depth of sorrow in these lives. Please comfort them in their angst. Be the peace that their troubled hearts cannot find. And direct them to seek You for answers to all the questions that plague their thinking. Bring people around them that can be Your presence. Have mercy on them O God, and pour out Your grace to them.
For those who have lost everything.
Father, You know the thoughts of those who survey the indescribable devastation: homes filled with mud. Huge rocks that cover the land that was a street or a front yard. Roadways that are impassable and piles of trees, uprooted like twigs. Even if we know You have given us all that we have accumulated, we nonetheless, suffer loss of our personal affects.
Inhabit the thinking of those who have lost so much. Direct their thoughts and establish Your thoughts for them. The road forward seems impossible. The work-effort needed to recover is beyond the imagination. What is the path forward? You alone know, O God.
Request for a miracle!
We need a miracle! You are the God of miracles!
Rise up O God! Fill California with Hope and Faith and may it be proclaimed. Establish undeniable miracle after miracle and may the receivers sing Your praises and give You the glory. May Your work be undeniable! Turn hearts towards You that they may seek You with all of their hearts and find Your grace to help in this time of need. And may person after person say:
I proclaim Your Word, for it can not return void.
Raise us up. That we may be found faithful in the day of His coming. Amen and Amen!

Jeremiah 10:12-13Father, The devastation seems unending. The pictures and videos are horrific. People are frightened.
He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.

And He doth cause me to come up From a pit of desolation -- from mire of mud, And He raiseth up on a rock my feet, He is establishing my steps.
You control the weather, and many are tempted to say,
- "There is no God who cares."
- "How could a God who cares, allow this to happen?"
- "How could a God of love, do this?"

Praise:
- You are the One True and Living God.
- You are omnipotent; You are all powerful.
- You are omniscient; You know every detail of the California mudslides.
- You are omnipresent; You are there. You have personally witnessed all that has happened.
- You are the God of Life. You alone know the depth of pain at the loss of life.
- You are the God who heals the broken hearted. You know the hearts that are broken.
- You are the God who wants all to be saved. You know each of us and You are a personal God who cares.
- Thank You that You are a just God. You rain on both the righteous and the wicked. Disaster finds its place in the lives of all; including those who put their trust in You.
- Thank You that You are not ignorant of what is going on here and You move with purpose.
- Thank You that You have told us to expect tribulation and suffering.
- Thank You that You have promised to be with us and that we can overcome and that we can have peace:
John 16:33

Romans 15:13Without Your help, we are lost and this event will be overwhelming. Establish our faith and hope in Your Word. Strengthen us to prevail and to do so by the power of Your Holy Spirit.
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Hope for a nation of addicts: opiodes: fentanyl OxyContin, heroin, alcohol...and greed

Heavenly Father,
Your Word:
Father, I come before You in shock as I read information about the opioid crisis. I can only believe that those who find themselves addicted are, by and large, victims of greed.
I am angry, disgusted as I read about medical professionals who administer drugs without ethical, or even medical intelligence.
It seems that this crisis was intentional. The more I read, the more I conclude that these drugs, especially the synthetic drugs, have been developed specifically for the purpose of power and money. The corruption is deep and without excuse.
Father, There are those who are making these drugs specifically for their financial gain, paying medical staff and intentionally feeding addiction. The breadth and wickedness of this problem is beyond comprehension. I am outraged. Surely this is abhorrent to You!
After repeated surgeries over the last several years and my medicine cabinet is lined with addictive pain killers—all with multiple refills. As this problem has been in the news, I have not taken it seriously. I have not been a good steward in taking care of the freedoms we enjoy.
I could have prayed. I didn't. I repent. I petition You for Your help. First, help me to do my part.
PETITION:
For the Medical Profession and Pharma Companies
Your Word clearly outlines what is happening here. Thank You. I come to You with Your Word.
Father, You know the people who have devised this evil in their hearts.
There are people who knew the potential of these drugs with regard to addiction and, in their hearts, realized the financial gain if millions of people were addicted and the drug was inexpensive and easily available.
There is an industry here ...and it is in full production!
Individuals, pharma companies, developers, people who are in the production of these drugs, those who deliver them, those who make them available ...Father, I am so sorry.
Is our greatest addiction that of greed...money and power?
You know the secretly rich who have been usurious, making victims for their own gain. Your Word tells us, "...they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing." (Psalm 34:10).
Yet, this nation is not satisfied with "enough" and we are not satisfied with "every good thing"... We seem to be addicted to wanting more.
I cannot understand the motivations of those involved in the conception, production, and distribution of these drugs, that millions of people are being led to addiction... to feed what? You know O God. Greed is what comes to my mind.
Your Word is clear on this:
For our Nation and a Solution
But therein is the problem. Our nation has fallen away from You. We do not want to serve You. We do not want to believe that Your Word is there for our protection. We are in utter rebellion. Have mercy, O God, have mercy.
Father, we seem to believe that the answer is to get rid of these drugs...yet are those involved already devising their next ruse? Truly, the problem is rebellion and greed.
Are those at the heart of this matter people who will turn to You? Will they leave their corruption and repent? If so, Father, may it happen quickly...
Is there legal recourse and would it help? Are there those who have wrought this corruption who should be incarcerated? You know. Then may the judgement be severe and quickly administered.
Are people being silenced to cover up those who gain from this industry? You know O God...expose the wicked.
For the Victims
You are a God of justice! You hate wickedness. You are Truth! (John 14:6). I petition You, in Your mercy, to expose those at the heart of this problem. Raise up solutions for these victims.
Getting rid of the drugs, without a valid, reasonable pathway for those who are addicted...is not a solution. They need more. They need healing. You are the Healer.
It is so easy for me to write and read Your Word. Yet Father, the reality for these victims is a different story. Have mercy. May they personally experience You true to Your Word. May these victims experience You firsthand:
Raise us up...that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

2 Peter 2:19Father, the oath of the medical profession to "First, do no harm." In this situation, can it get any more hypocritical? Surely, this problem was known early in the history of testing. Surely, doctors saw the results of their prescriptions in their patients. Yet this has continued.
While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
Father, You know the people who have devised this evil in their hearts.

A prayer for the homeless and hungry, the lonely, the desolate, and the forgotten.
Please pray with me.
Heavenly Father,
Your Word:
Father, I feel guilty and embarrassed.
I am exasperated and helpless. My impotence screams at me as "life" takes up my attention and I forget about those in dire need.
I do not know how to manage this. I rely on "agencies" to care for these people and my support seems feeble. My heart cries out to help those who have lost their jobs, their homes, their possessions, and even their loved ones who reject them...
Many people in California have lost everything.
You are the God of Compassion. Have mercy on our poor and show those of us, whom You have graced with substance, how we can share what we have. Raise us up to go out and help as our substance allows and do so in the Name of Jesus Christ. Father, place those in need in front of those who love You. May each one of us rise to the occasion and demonstrate the love of Christ in a meaningful way.
Please help me to do my part... and not just at Thanksgiving and Christmas, but all year long. Father, You fed the 5,000! You know how to make this work! And You rely on us, Your church to be Your presence here. Help us Lord! Help us to be faithful.
Father, place on the heart of Your disciples to do what they can do. That:

Surely, I want my way, my desires, my idea of the outcome here. And as I see unrest in the Middle East, it is difficult not to want immediate peace. It is difficult not to desire that nothing be done to stir up any additional unrest. Are my desires in alignment with Your will? This is not usually the case. Forgive me. Grant me prayers that align with Your will.
I cannot fathom what it is like to live there. But I believe You are omni-present and that You are there. You are Jehovah Shammah, You are the God who is there. (Ezekiel 48:15) You know every detail of what is happening in and about Jerusalem! Thank You!
There is not one heart that breaks, one soul lost, one life severed from the earth, that You are not aware of. You love them all and desire that all men be saved (1 Timothy 2:4).
I want Your blessing...for me and for the Nation of Israel!
Thank You that You tell me how I can get it!
Father, Your Word proclaims that You are Light! Is it not Hanukkah? Is it not the time of year when we celebrate Your provision of Light?
Raise up praise to Your Name, for You promise to inhabit the praises of Your people, Israel!

Heavenly Father,
Your Word:
The Jerusalem prophesy in Jeremiah 3:17Father, it is Your imperative that we pray according to Your Word...for it shall not return void. I believe it. How do we do this with regard to the U.S.Embassy move from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem? You know O God, the prayers that would move Your heart. That is what we seek—Your Word, Your desire, Your will.
At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.
You promise in Jeremiah 3:17

• Praise be to You, El Roi: The God who sees! You see all, You know what is going on there. Thank You that nothing escapes Your notice. Praise be to the God who knows, who is omniscient. Blessings to You, who sees even the silent tears that fall from every heart.
Father, Your Word proclaims that You are Light! Is it not Hanukkah? Is it not the time of year when we celebrate Your provision of Light?

California wildfires...again a plea for help

Heavenly Father,
Once again, California is facing devastation from wildfires. All that is in the earth is Yours. Our very lives. Yet the devastation is overwhelming.
In accordance with Your Word, I shall enter into Your gates with thanksgiving, and into Your courts with praise. I will bless Your Holy Name.
I thank You that You are a God who moves with purpose. Your purpose is focused on everlasting value. Thank You, that You are aware of every soul in California, both far and near the fires.
You are the God who cleanses and preserves, even though we cannot understand in the here and now. You are the God who brings healing...Thank You that You see the innermost needs of our lives.
Thank You that Your ways are not our ways. Thank You that we can trust You as we move through the destruction brought by these fires.
Your Word:
For firefighters:
Father, may those in authority who make decisions, do so with the wisdom from above. Supernaturally, Grant them supernatural understanding and solutions that work.
Protect those fighting the fires. Especially those on the ground. May they protect each other, and may they have strength to continue to make progress against these fires. Strengthen their bodies and their minds. Father, if there is a time they should pull out - may they do so without hesitation. Protect them. Surround them and place Your hedge of protection around each individual. Give their families and friends fervent prayers during this time.
Father, surely these firefighters, these servants are concerned about their families. Keep their families safe. Families are concerned, constantly, for the safety of those directly fighting these fires. Satisfy their concerns that You are there. You are engaged. Protect them Father, please protect those that serve and protect their families.
For police, medical staff, those who receive the injured:
Father, these people are making life and death decisions, every moment. You are the God in the moment. Give these people decisive decision-making ability and decisive actions that save lives. I ask that the equipment needed to care for those coming through their facilities be available. I ask for ample medication, pain relief, bandages...beds, rooms, nurses, doctors...everything needed...may there be an ample supply.
For those who are suffering:
O Father, this is hard. First, I pray for those suffering physically. Please get them to facilities that can help them. You know each person who has been burned. You know the lives that have been changed forever. Bring people to serve them. Bring comfort through those that know You and can bring Your Peace into this situation. May Your Word rise to these situations. Yes, and even those with pets, who may have been lost or hurt. Please save their pets, livestock...Your creatures that bring us so much enjoyment.
I ask Your healing presence. Send an army of Your servants to walk with these people, not just now, but in the weeks, months and even years to come. Father, may those who call on Your Name, go to help. May they bond with those who are suffering and maintain contact, such that Your care and love is demonstrated in meaningful ways.
Father, we are tempted to turn away from You, yet You are our only hope. We are tempted to be angry at the devastation. Yet You are the only true way. May everyone directly affected by these fires be drawn close to You. May they cry out and know You have heard them and will answer them. Give people words to come to You with their grief and sorrow...and find grace to help in this dire time of need.
For recovery:
Is there recovery without You? Do You not bring good out of all things? Your Word says:
Help us. Raise us up. That we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

For firefighters:

Light for darkness...exposing predators and pedophilia...the prayers of one sinner
Please pray with me.
Heavenly Father,
You have promised in Your Word:
These are the sins that are abominable to You. You are omnipresent and You have seen every act: as women, children, and youth have been abused, degraded and even sodomized. Father, this darkness pervades our land. Help, LORD. Help us by opening the eyes of our hearts to see the perverse, decrepit condition of our land.
Father, will this be the tipping point to call this nation to repent? I ask it. Let every one of us take responsibility. Shed the light of Christ on this widespread wicked darkness. Have we not all sinned?
These notable people are being exposed. But what about those who have done likewise, but seem to be of little significance? What about them?
Bring our sins into the light. What about all those who have purchased silence through personal and corporate funding and even used our legal system to "make a deal" and buy their public image...at the sordid expense to the victim. God of justice, expose them!
How many abortions have occurred because of this darkness? You know.
Open our spirits to see the cost to the victims! May victims come forth! Strengthen them to speak out. Pour out Your compassion on them that they may be healed.
Father, may the love of Christ surround them through the lives of trusted friends and colleagues. Move us to pray and reach out. May the path to healing be brought to their lives that they may be washed clean in the blood of Christ.
Father, as we seem to have passed a tipping point, and as a frenzy of exposure comes forth, saturate us with reason and truth. Father, we would be no better off, if this were taken to the opposite extreme. May only truth be spoken. I ask that restraint be poured out on this matter. Where an innocent, and awkward incident occurred, may grace abound.
May women not use this situation as an excuse to wrongly accuse or retaliate. Pour out reason and self-control.
We point to these individuals who have been exposed. We are surprised. We are disappointed. We are saddened. We say, "This is despicable." Yet, we are ALL guilty! We have all helped to create this cultural of sexual sin and perversion.
Show each of us our part. Show us how we have contributed. Expose our wicked hearts to ourselves.
You were there. You wept. We are ALL guilty. I am guilty.
Remind us all of the times when we saw and heard newscasts, and were dismissive when sexual impropriety and perversion were brought to our attention. Every one of those moments provided an opportunity to pray for the victim, the predator, and for our nation. I could have prayed, but I did not.
Help us. Raise us up. That we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

2 Chronicles 7:14We are a sinful nation. We are heinous. Father, disgusting practices are widespread and tolerated. Many people have known about them—people who were in a position to bring change...and kept silent. Many others have suspected these shameful activities, and have not investigated. Many have not sought the truth...many have remained silent.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

- What about the times we were aghast and didn't know what to do at a comment...so we laughed...and did nothing?
- What about the times we heard news clips, showed disgust for the perpetrators, and didn't pray for the ones who were victims?
- What about the many times we were simply thoughtless and moved on in our lives, numb to the situation?
You were there. You wept. We are ALL guilty. I am guilty.
