The one critical question that will truly reduce abortion in the U.S....the prayer of one sinner

For the U.S. to take ownership and stop killing babies through abortion

Please pray with me.

Oh Father, the words of Senator Ben Sasse ring in my ears as 46 out of 97 senators voted to "continue discussion" on the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.

Senator Ben Sasse:
A hefty majority (it's not close) of Americans support this legislation including:

• a super majority of women,
• including most young people,
• including most independents,
• and now ticking up just shy of half of all Democrats.

This should not be a partisan issue and in the future it won't [be].

It's going to be a bi-partisan issue, because you have to tell the truth, that those pictures, are pictures of babies and they are alive and they deserve our protection.

This nation, that I love, The United States of America, has, yet again, decided to go its own way and ignore Your Word:

Exodus 20:13
"Thou shalt not murder."

My heart is heavy. It seems so clear to me...yet...

...my midwife-and-nurse friend clearly makes a case that there is so much more to this than convenience.

Confessing my own hypocracy:
I confess that I have dismissed those who are pro-abortion and lumped them into one group of people who, for the convenience of their comfortable life, elect abortion.

I have forgotten those who can't feed or manage the children they have and who crumble at the thought of one more mouth to feed, one more child to care for.

I have ignored the reality that as children grow, the needs become more sophisticated and complex...and at that time, much of the support has disappeared!

I have ignored that there may be "initial care" for mothers in need, but the long-term needs are even greater and the care dwindles.

By lumping together all people who choose abortion into one group who crave personal convenience and comfort, I have been a hypocrite. I did so for my own convenience.

Forgive me and show me my part.

Repentence:
I give You thanks that You are Truth. You are holy and Your ways are perfect. I bend my knee. I commit to listening to Your Spirit, to define my part, and to be obedient to Your leading.

The critical question:
What would give mother's (and fathers!) of the unborn babies long-term hope that the support they need will be there for them?

The needs are overwhelming and last for the remainder of the life of these parents. Raise up Your church to take a personal interest and provision for those in their community who are making a choice. Raise up Your church to commit to long-term assistance.

• The immediate care isn't obvious either...what about the other children?
• There are the basic needs: food, shelter and clothing.
• So many "other" needs: safety, a clean and pleasant place to live and grow.
• What about their emotional needs? Support for parents: financial, medical, emotional and so many other needs.
• Childcare. Father it is a never-ending need, even when the children become adults.
• What about the emotional support, when mother and child go home...when "life" starts again.

• this list is endless. And if we truly desire to shut down the abortion industry, we need to address it.

The critical answer:
Give us, Your church, a heart for these people who are caught. Help us to dismiss out criticism and judgement on them. Move our hearts to actively pour out Your grace on each situation.

Grant us an intense need to reach out. Give us new ideas on how to help by building communities of support. Bring along organizers to organize, lay ministers to minister, and may the blight of this sin be preached from the pulpits of this nation—that we may be rid of this curse that is upon us.

Raise up Your church. You are the God of Life. Help us align our support to ensure life and hope for those in this industry and those who are in need.

...all that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

Hope and momentum for the uprising of conscience...in support of the pro-life movement.

Please pray with me.

Heavenly Father,
Your Word:

Jeremiah 1:5
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

Father, You existed before time began; and You knew each of us before there was ever a clock. You have know each of us since before the beginning of time. Your Word clearly states that children are Your inheritance.

Psalm 127:3
“Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.”

We are robbing You of Your inheritance. Have mercy and help us change our ways.

Mark 12:27
He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living:

Confession, request for mercy:
Father, we lost our way and You know all the motivations that caused us to legalize abortion. Have mercy on us. Speak to us and prick our conscience that we may turn from this wickedness and find the much-needed grace which You lavishly hold in reserve for us. You assure us that Your mercies are renewed every morning and Your faithfulness never fails. Thank You.

So many have brought to my attention that the issue isn't as simple as we may think. My heart is heavey and I grieve. But You are our hope and the God who can help us to focus on the pathway through this blight.

Lamentations 3:22-23
It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

In spite of Your clear Word on these matters, we continue to push the gamut and we have made into law, the right of a person to end a life. Have mercy, O God. Raise up our conscience to face the casualties and the results of our decisions:

• An outpouring of guilt on so many that are involved.
• Brothers and sisters suffering from "survivors guilt"
• Naked families - bereft of sons and daughters, siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles...
• Untold heartache...wondering what might that child have contributed...


• The loss of the joy that only a child can bring
• Lost growth from hardships that were never endured
• The loss of the intellect and and artistic renderings that might have come forth

Father, there are so many more...only You know. Have mercy.

For the Pro-Life Movement:
Father, You have a brilliant spokesperson: Jeanne Mancini. She wants to make abortion "unthinkable." ...and there are people and organizations that join her and stand for life. Cause many to rise up in support of her and every initiative that honors You regarding this matter.

Raise them up, O God. Raise up Right for Life! Raise up those who speak out for the unborn, Paul Ryan, President Trump, and so many others.

Give people words and enliven them such that the words can't remain inside these speakers. Compel them to give these words birth, and to bring these words from You, into the light of day! Establish within us, the American people, an awareness of these actions and a commitment and determination to speak out for life. Give the hearers, ears to hear truth and an eagerness to embrace it and actively take up this cause.

Father, may pastors speak out from the pulpits and call abortion what it is: murder. Give them the gentleness needed for those who have been a part of the abortion movement, and mothers who have had abortions. Give them the words of assurance that there is forgiveness and freedom if people will confess and repent. O Father, this is the Gospel. May the Gospel be preached from the pulpits in this nation regarding the pro-life movement.

May those in this nation who support pro-life rise up. May side-liners be convicted that they are here for "such a time as this" (Esther 4:14). Pour out compelling speech that brings others on board.

For Pressure on Federal Funding:
Father, surely, this is part of our greatest shame...we, every American, is paying for the funding of abortions. Please, may Your Holy Spirit exert enormous pressure that this stop. Congressional elections are soon. Some people are running on the pro-choice, pro-abortion platform...hidden behind so many lies from the pit of hell:

• "Planned Parenthood"
• The Safe Abortion Action Fund
• NARAL
• The National Abortion Foundation
• Over-population
• "A woman's right to control her body"
• The Affordable Care Act

May many rise up and pressure our government to stop using taxpayer money for this work. Give them words that may be heard, may Your love of life be present. May there be godly anger, drenched in the outpouring of Your grace and love. May the arguments be compelling and may they be heard by the opposition. Please cast down the lies and open the eyes of the opposition to see (and to hear) YOUR Truth.

To stop the spread of "the next steps":
Selective abortion and designer children:
Father, You know where this can go. You are watching and nothing escapes Your knowledge, including the expansion of this heinous concept. From legalized abortion, there is s spread to "selective abortions"... targeting and leading to the extinction of entire populations of people.

Parents want perfect children—perfect by their definition. We have this ability to "see" into the womb and to identify characteristics of these children. This is being used by the medical profession and those who believe they can profit from this capability, to pressure parents to abort children who are, in any way, "defective."

Surely, this has proliferated to every physical attribute that can now be controlled through DNA testing and alterations. We want designer children. Genetics...help us bring these technologies to submit to the directives of Your Word.

Legalized suicide, euthanasia:
Father, we have twisted so much: the right to life to "the right to die"... the potential of this movement is alarming. We want control of every aspect of "Life." Forgive us as we strip You of Your directives—placed in Your Word for our protection. Help us to come to our senses. We can't do this on our own. Have mercy O God.

For those caught-up as victims in the abortion industry:
Mothers who have had abortions and their families:
Father, Your love never fails. Pour out Your solutions. May each person who feels guilt, learn and embrace Jesus Christ and His salvation and Your grace to help in time of need.

There are many who have had abortions and do not know they too are victims of the enemy. They believe lies. Yet, as painful as this may be, I ask that they see truth, that they may come to the Living God who will not fail them.

Doctors and medical staff:
Is there regret? Guilt? Have these people had to choose between participation and providing for their family? You have a way out. Cause them to seek You. Direct them to the road of repentance and to find Your true provision for them, for their families, and to know that You will take care of them. Give them the unction to "make haste" to leave this work.

Silence the lies to drop from the earth, and raise up Truth, that we may be set free.

Raise us up...that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

Job 5:7
"Yet man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward."

Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,
From the beginning, You have set humans apart from all that You created. You declare humanity to he Your crown of creation because we are made in Your own image (Gen. 1:26-27). Father, Your Word is clear, that we are not set apart because we walk upright or because we are intellectually more capable, we are distinguished because You created us in Your image. We represent You as no other creature can. We relate to You differently than all the other creatures. Thank You.

Psalm 19:1
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

Romans 1:20
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Your creation proclaims that You are the Creator. You have made us in Your image and we too have a desire and ability to create. Why do we create? Because we are in Your image. Teach us about this attribute that we share. As we look at Your creation, as we behold he universe through the wars and heavenly bodies, may we be in awe and fall in worship.

Father as we “create” in our daily lives, may we see clearly that we are different from the animal kingdom. May we see the uniqueness with which we are formed.

Father, please open the eyes and hearts of people everywhere, to look differently at Your creation. Cause us all to see the breadth and scope…and grandeur of all that You have made…and let us awe in wonder. Humble us with Your creation. Show us how to open our hearts and minds to You. Show us how to see differently with regard to your creation and realize that You have honored humans with a unique ability to connect with You in a real and personal manner.

As we gaze upon Your creation, establish in each of us the Truth of Your Word, that we are unique and that You desire relationship with us. As such, may we see the Sanctity of Life. May we view life differently. May we see conception as the beginning of a unique human being that is precious, valuable, and important as You have proclaimed in Your Word. May we be humbled and may we protect every human being from conception and beyond.

Abortion in the U.S.

...a prayer for the wounded, the participants, and those who fight for the unborn.

The numbers: over 57 million abortions, 133,333 more every month and many mothers who have died during the procedure. Millions of mothers suffer from Post-Abortion Syndrome (PAS).

Please pray with me:

O great God of Creation, God of Life and Author of our faith. We come with heavy hearts as we see the changes in the U.S. culture, especially with regard to abortion. We seek Your guidance and Your will on how to respond.

Your Word tells us that: Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. (Psalm 127:3)

We seek You on behalf of all those who are involved in the eradication of Your inheritance. We have robbed You of Your reward. We have squandered Your inheritance… which was not our own.

People, especially women, have been lied to…and many have given up their children. Many have died during the procedure. Convenience has become our top priority.

We acknowledge that You are the God who changes hearts and we seek to do our part, to be responsible, to work as faithful stewards to testify of Your love and to fulfill our part in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20).

We pray for those considering abortion. Father, cause them to question their decision. Move in their hearts to seek alternatives. Bring credible people alongside each person—people who are equipped with a reasonable, tangible solution and alternative. By Your powerful Holy Spirit, may many lives be saved and may You receive the glory.

We pray for the thousands of people who participate in this lethal procedure. Lord God, who convicts the hearts of people. Please send Your Holy Spirit to work in their lives. Did You not turn the heart of the Apostle Paul? He was murdering Your children, yet, You changed his heart to serve You. We pray that these people will have a similar change of heart and become an army against this heinous slaughter.

We pray for those who suffer from the consequences from abortion: women and men, mothers, fathers, siblings, extended family, those who speak out against abortion, those who participate in the procedure, and those who choose not to care.

Father, so many millions of women suffer from Post Abortion Syndrome. It is a hidden shame and they suffer in silence. Raise up those ministries that currently minister to these people. The women as well as the men and their families. You know which organizations reach out to these people. Father, raise up the needed monies to extend their reach. Pour out the technology and oversee its functionality that no one who needs help is missed, or passed by. Lord may these people find help in their moment of need. Grant a steady flow of the healing balm of Gilead.

Father, we ask for additional ministries to rise up. For each abortion in history, rescue those involved, 57 million, to know the saving grace and forgiveness offered through the redemptive sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Then, may they become ministers that together bring a healing can wash across the United States. Lord God, by Your hand, by Your Spirit, and for Your glory.

For those who support the pro-life movement: Father, move in the hearts and minds of those who feel strongly about the pro-life movement. Give them persuasive words that many more may be drawn to action. Create leaders in this movement who speak and act in love. May they not be silenced. May their words be you’re your heart and may they open the hearts of others that this movement may grow.

Bring hope and light. We look to You for it. We look for encouragement, and for a diligence of action that pleases You.

Father, our culture has turned from You. Have we been diligent in prayer? Have we taken a stand that prevents us from regrets when we stand before You? Oh God, where this is not the case, may we repent this moment and here on out, seek you diligently on behalf of our culture. Grant us all diligence and discernment to move stealthily and overcome the enemy.
