***That the body of Christ in America would fervently pray for our nation and its leaders.

1 Timothy 2:1-2 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,

The election is upon us. The new leaders of decision makers of our nation will be elected. We pray for these men and women who being elected, those who are in the media, and those who will make choices in the voting booth. We need Your Gguidance and discernment. We need the wisdom that is from above, that can come only from You. I ask for it.

You have blessed this nation lavishly, but we have turned from You. We have not lived according to Your Word. We have turned away from all things "godly." Forgive us and grant us a heart to repent. Give us a heart to fall before Your throne of grace. Surely we have forsaken You. Surely we have the government we deserve. We have not prayed fervently for our leaders. We have enjoyed the benefits of freedom without taking responsibility to preserve it. It's not as if our situation is a surprise. We should have expected it. Forgive me. Forgive us.

Father, we cannot make a good decision if we do not have the truthful information. Cause Truth to be presented to the American people about the background, beliefs, and integrity of the candidates who seek public office. You who know the hearts of each person, please cause that truth about each person with regard to integrity, ethics, and their personal agendas to be made public.

As we go to the polls this week, may we truly know who we are voting for. May we be diligent with our background work and realize how much is at stake. Father, compel the American people to research the entire venue on their voting dockets: national, state and local. May we seek You for clarity of choice. When we get into the voting booth, may we read and discern each item with the clarity from You. Help us to take each step seriously and see this as much more than the national election.

Unify our hearts and minds to choose wisely and in accordance with Your will. As we go to the polls, may we vote knowingly. Cause Truth about each candidate to be available to us. Father, if we vote for corruption and for those who will satisfy our own personal agendas, then we knowingly have turned from You. Help Lord. We cannot do this on our own. We do not have the wisdom or strength to do this with integrity.

James 3:14-16
14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

Father, we have bitter envy and strife. We have contention both in our hearts and with others. However, we also have the media that does not promote Truth. Help Lord. Please, may people not go to the polls and as cattle to the slaughter, vote as they have been manipulated to do so. Please, cause Truth about the inner core of these candidates to be made public. Father, may we have ears to hear and hearts to seek You on this matter. Cause deception to fall to the ground. Give us vision to see Truth and promote it. Cause our hearts to be attuned to hear Your voice. Help Lord. Please help us.

As we go through this week of the election—may we be fervent in prayer. May we know Your will for this nation and vote accordingly.

Your Word tells us:

Deuteronomy 2:20-22
"And he changeth the times and the seasons; He removeth kings, and setteth up kings; he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding. He revealeth the deep and secret things; he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him."

...may we accept what happens on Tuesday and seek You for our response. There is so much work to do in this nation to return to One Nation Under God. May we eagerly take on the mess we have created, knowing that You are God...knowing that You will show us the pathway to repentance. Help Lord. We cannot do this on our own.

If we vote for corruption—may we do so knowingly. That we have no excuse when we are called to account. Have mercy on the United States.

Help us, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You that we live in a nation where there is still some freedom of speech. Thank You that there are so many media platforms from which to express our thoughts and concerns. There are many of them! truly we are blessed with resources and technology for communication. Thank You!

Communication! Through the media we can reach out to the world. Thank You! This isn't new to You! You are consummate communication! You set the example and the standard. That's exciting! You gave us Your Word, You have sent hundreds of messengers throughout time—writers to record the Scriptures, proclaim the good news, and bring relief and comfort to those who seek You.

Your communication is everywhere —including the earth itself, which daily proclaims a gracious Creator who loves and cares for us. Let our hearts rejoice and be glad, for You have revealed Yourself to us in Word, through Your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ, and through Your Holy Spirit! Thank You and praise be to Your Name, the One True and Living God. Amen an Amen.

Father, You know we now have "the media" ...technology. There is such power at the fingertips of "the media"...but truly WE are the media as well as the professional media writers and managers. We all choose what to report. And the potential to "go viral" throughout all the earth is an ominous thought. Help us all to choose wisely.

Help us choose wisely:
We are choosing "media" every day. Professionals choose what they push before millions of people. Open their eyes to find goodness—Your goodness. May it delight them! Father, may that delight overcome them and satisfy a need that is deep within them.

May the professionals proclaim Your goodness. May they find "godly goodness" in the details of their investigations. May these details satisfy a longing within themselves to believe in a good and loving God who is real and personal. Please nourish this need and desire and may their findings well up within them until they proclaim it to our nation.

Father, please help us all to choose wisely what we say and what we put forth into the media-sphere. May our desire for Your goodness lead and guide us to find You, to locate the goodness all around us and to proclaim it! Ugh! We look for the "juicy news"... the gossip, when we could nourish our souls with Your goodness. Forgive us and help us to change our appetites.

Help us all to choose goodness and to abhor manipulative media. Encourage and guide each of us to attend to the media that nourishes our souls through Your goodness. You have given us the responsibility to choose what we digest. May we choose wisely—especially the "professionals."

Help us protect the vulnerable, especially children:
Father, the media guides and steers this nation. We need discernment from You. It seems the pool of vulnerables increases and extends throughout our society. Children are trying to wade through the barrage of messages that comes at them. And we ALL have this challenge and only Your wisdom from above can help us.

James 3:17
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

Grant us discernment and a heart to take appropriate action. Grant us the urgency and strength to move swiftly. Help us to identify the vulnerable and protect them and ourselves from manipulation. Grant us all a hunger and thirst for Your goodness. Show us how to find it, and may we spend time with You, enjoying and contemplating Your goodness.

Help us embrace Your goodness:
Some are professionals and very good at what they do and they choose daily how they will use talents and skills. Help them to find and embrace Your goodness and offer it to their readers, listeners, and watchers. May the sweetness of Your goodness be so enticing that we all look for it each day.

Draw us to Your goodness and help us to see the vastness of it. Surely, You have placed it right in front of us...may we not miss it. May we embrace it and report it. Yes, WE are ALL part of the media.

Help us, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,

Your Word speaks Truth. Jesus Christ IS Truth. Praise be to Your Name. Let the hearts of the those who know You be at peace, for the Lord God of Heaven is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Place within us exultant praise for the One True and Living God. May this praise erupt from within us and pour out over the earth and rise up before Your throne of grace—that we may have grace to help in time of need.

Father in heaven, we need You. We need You now. Show us our sin and convict our hearts. Grant us a spirit of repentance that we may fall before You and repent. We have enjoyed the lavish provision in this land and have taken it for granted. Our needs have been so well met that we have not prayed fervently for our leadership. I have not prayed as You commanded. Forgive me. Forgive us.

The enemy has infiltrated our leaders and government. Father, we forget that this election is not about flesh and blood. We get so distracted. Forgive us, direct the focus of the Body of Christ to pray in accordance with Your Word.

Help us to discern the real issues at stake and not be swayed by the media. Father, strike down the lies from the media and the candidates, cause truth to come to the fore. May all Americans be gathered in one accord to stand with determination to know the truth. May we year to know

Father, some of our leaders, and the media, distort and seek to intentionally manipulate us. We need the discernment from heaven, from Your Holy Spirit. The enemy seeks to thwart our vision and distort facts. Open our eyes and our ears. Show us, in our spirit, so that we may know what is from You and what is not.

Father, desire for power and influence has driven us to embrace deception. You, who know the hearts of men, know the extent to which this has infiltrated government at every level. It seems like it is now too late to realign ourselves with Your will. Yet, Your Word beckons us to come and find grace.

Hebrews 4:16
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Father, we are in need. Have mercy on us. You invite us to come boldly. Raise up the hearts of Your people that we may find this incredibly grace. Give us a heart filled with urgency to pray for our leaders, including the local leaders right around us.

Cause relationships to be established with leaders in our towns and cities so that prayers for them and for our national leaders can become personal.

Give us a heart for these people who take leadership positions. Help us to pray with the understanding that they are targets of the enemy of Jesus Christ. May we pray for their protection - from the local level and throughout our nation. May we pray that they establish themselves before Your throne and receive Your gift of salvation.

Establish our testimonies to be pure and clearly present the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a way that creates desire in the hearts of our leaders. From these testimonies, may they desire and seek You.

Father, give us urgency to pray for leaders at every level. We know that you use leaders as You will. Teach us to pray for them.

Heavenly Father,
Father, You know each candidate running for election and re-election. And You know every person who will vote for them. Thank You that there is nothing hidden from You. You are the omniscient, all knowing God of the universe. There is nowhere to hide from You and no reason to do so. Praise be to Your Name. Blessings to the God of creation.

As we approach the elections, we need wisdom. The distractions of the candidate parleys are so filled with non-election content that it has become almost impossible to find value in what is being said. Yes, we need wisdom and we know where to find it.

James 1:5
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

We not only need wisdom Father, but all of us, citizens, residents, and candidates need discernment as well. Discernment to identify key messages. Discernment to understand the needs of the people in this nation. Discernment to plow through the rhetoric from candidates and voters. Discernment to hear Your voice and recognize Your leading. Discernment to see long-term consequences for our nation.

There is so much at stake and it reaches far beyond the presidency.

We need Your help. We need the wisdom that is from above, the wisdom that can only come from You. Help Lord. Have mercy on us, for we have gone astray and are lost. We flounder in the muck that we have created.

Open our eyes to see cause and effect. Grant us laser vision to see through to key issues and extract the specific information that will cause us to make decisions that will honor You. Everyone seems to have "the" answer. Yet, our vision is clouded.

Even in the day, it seems very, very dark. Help Lord, have mercy on us. Yes, we need wisdom, we need Your wisdom.

James 3:17

The ramifications of this election are so great as the United States is at a cross-roads on many issues. Distrust and confusion seems intentional and promoted liberally. Trust has eroded. Skepticism abounds.

Psalm 139:14
14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

Have mercy. Lead us and guide us. Help us, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

U.S. Election: Prayer No. 6: For discernment, clarity and godly demeanor

Romans 13:1
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

Heavenly Father,
God of heaven and earth, praise and glory belong to You alone. You are the True and Living God and You protect and give discernment to those who ask. You are the Author of wisdom and truth. You promise to give wisdom if we ask. We are asking.

James 1:5
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Shower down Your wisdom from heaven upon those who diligently seek You. Immerse us in understanding that can come only from You. Our nation is in peril. We are fractured. We are torn. We are confused. Yet...we know that You are not the God of confusion.

1 Corinthians 4:33
For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Yet, confusion reigns in our land. The election coverage promotes discord and not peace. The challenges of discernment are complicated and the media has a specific agenda to further confound and confuse. We need You. We need Your discernment.

Hear our prayer of God. Our choices seem so difficult. We turn to the right and we turn to the left and no matter where we look, we see godlessness. Confusion reigns everywhere.

Silence our mental wanderings and quiet our spirit that we can clearly hear Your Spirit. Through You alone we can have true wisdom. Through You alone, we can know how to respond to the overwhelming torrent of media coverage. Through You alone, we can know how to manage conversations as we go about our day.

Bring the Body of Christ in the U.S. to prayer fervently, urgently, and diligently regarding the elections. May we pour out praise to You, God of our Salvation, for You promise that You inhabit the praises of Your people.

Psalm 22:3
But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

And You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. Let us rise up and praise You for the great and mighty work that You are doing. May our hearts be open to see that You alone are the God of our Salvation.

Let us pray in faith, in confidence, knowing that You hear our prayers and although Your ways are not our ways, we can put our trust in You.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You that You are Truth, You are wisdom and understanding. Thank You that You have not kept Yourself from us. Your Word is readily available and You reveal Yourself to us. You have not kept Your intentions from us and eagerly beckon us to come before Your presence.

Forgive us when the busy-ness of the day has stolen our time to seek You in Your Word and in prayer. Forgive us for not upholding our leaders in prayer. Forgive us for allowing our fervency to seek You has grown cold. We have dismissed Your presence, ignored Your warnings, falsely believed that we can run our lives, our nation without You. Forgive our foolish ways.

Lord Jesus, You are just and You will deliver justice. Thank You ...that You give hope to whom justice is denied. Thank You that we will be held accountable to You for all that we do, for every decision, for every action and even every thought.

2 Corinthians 5:10
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Our nation's leaders need Your wisdom and Your understanding to make good decisions. We cannot have the insight needed to understand the issues that we face, never mind the ramifications of our decisions.

We need You, even in our seemingly trivial daily lives. How much more so do our leaders need You. The town, state and national level...leaders at every post need You. Turn their hearts to You. May every civic and political leader delight in finding You each day. May they each take the time to seek You in Your Word, to spend time with You in prayer, and to discern Your voice and guidance as they make decisions.

Dismiss the lies that we are capable. Evaporate the cloud of delusion that we have wisdom of our own. Turn our hearts, that we may earnestly seek You.

Father, may each leader, regardless of the level, carry a weight in their conscience regarding their decisions. May they have understanding, beforehand, of the impact that their decisions will have on people. May this realization cause them to pause and realize their impotence to understand within themselves, and may they seek You.

Reveal Yourself to them. Open their minds and hearts to acknowledge Your goodness, Your desire to help and Your presence, knowledge and understanding of their situation. Reveal Your love for them in such a way that they would humbly reach out to You for insight, strength, and courage. ...and may they make godly decisions.

Help us, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

Heavenly Father,
You have made us social and we seek community. Thank You. Thank You that You have provided for us to have community with You through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Thank You, that You are always available for every need and concern.

You are interested in every detail and You receive us when we come to You. Thank You that we don't need any technology to find and converse with You. Thank You that You already know our every thought and action.

You have created us with social needs and You have given us community with others, and connectivity through language that is mass produced through our media. Information is available to us every moment of each day. We know what is passed on to us. Thank You for the technology that brings You closer to us.

Thank You for the godly podcasts, websites, and publishing and distribution companies that proliferate Your Word throughout the world. Thank You for the availability of the Good News, Truth, Jesus Christ! Protect them. Protect each person that works in these places. Protect their families and their homes and grant them good health and faith that You will provide for their daily needs. Protect their hearts from fear of the enemy and may they stand firm in their faith.

There is so much pressure here in the US to drive You out of the public media. Much of our media attempts to manipulate every person in this nation and turn them against You. Father, in the election, we even have to have "fact checkers" because so many assertions are made that are distorted and miss-represented.

Change hearts in this country so that we have an insatiable appetite for Truth. Open our minds and hearts to discern by Your Spirit what and who to believe. And then, gracious Lord, gift us with persuasive language to direct others to Truth. Cause lies to fail and to fall.

Those who are in the media are under intense pressure to support the agendas of powerful people. Resisting the pressure could mean their lives. They are tempted on every front to succumb to the pressure. Cause the manipulation to be easily recognized and shunned. Give these professionals (at every level) a staunch resistance to the hidden agendas. They need Your wisdom to know how to respond to those that seek to manipulate them. Give each person a cunning response—so remarkable that they know that You are equipping them in every situation.

Cause the lies to fall to the ground and be impotent. Open eyes across this nation to see the folly of those who wield tremendous power and use it for evil. Pull them to the ground, destroy the lies, humble them, and may they know that You are the LORD.

Father, so much of what we do is motivated by fear. Secure us in Your Word and may the only fear within us be a fear of You. May we be courageous with a presence of mind to respond in ways that turn others towards you and may Christ be served with excellence.

Help us, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

You, God of Creation, God of justice and of grace; You are the God of Righteousness. Glory be Your Name. You and You only, judge rightly.

Beckon us to come. Place a yearning within this nation to desire righteousness and to seek You, who gives freely. Truly, we can have no righteousness of our own, but only through Jesus Christ, who clothes us in His righteousness. Only through Him can we even approach You.

Philipianes 3:9
9And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Raise up a nation of humble followers of Christ. Raise up an army of prayer warriors who love what You love and hate what You hate. Establish prayers within us to pray for our leaders and this nation to seek the true righteousness that comes only from Christ.

Father, You establish Your own as a testimony of Your work within us. Thank You. Give us a testimony to those who see our lives—a testimony that is credible and inviting. Establish relationships with local, state and national leaders that, through us, Truth may be spoken.

Father, in this army of prayer warriors and action-takers, fill us with unction to hear Your voice and to move quickly when opportunity arises. Give us a doorway to our leaders throughout the nation and our neighbors, to pray with compassion, to implore You on our behalf, to beg You for Your mercy and bring this nation back to Your guidance, Your principles, and Your favor.

You are the Creator, the Most High God, and the God of order. You have set Your order in the heavens and given us Your Word that clearly defines the order that You have set in place. Thank You. Your order brings balance to the earth. Your perfect design gives us order; it gives us the seasons, as well as a hierarchy for our daily living. Thank You.

In Your order You have given parents a special place of honor; and You have mandated that we should honor them. You have not given us any exceptions to this. You have clearly laid down the commandment on this matter. Thank You. This must be so important, since You immediately included a blessing for us if we follow Your commandment.

Father, we aren't so good at following Your commandments. We desire our own way. We don't like to be confined. Truly, we are rebellions. Forgive us for preferring our own freedom to the safety and blessings that You offer.

Father, because we have chosen not to honor our parents, we defy authority. This disrupts our society at its core. We defy and rebel against the immediate authority of "father and mother" and continue our defiance to disrespect our teachers in school and on to defy the laws of this nation. Forgive us.

There are so many ways that we have corrupted Your order. We have redefined "family" and departed from Your order. Our public officials have become corrupt and defied Your laws, using their power for their personal agendas. We have not prayer for them. Please forgive us. Teach us to pray for them, and grant them an open heart to turn to You. Show us the path to re-establish the system that You have put in place. Raise up those who believe in You to establish their family order. May fathers and mothers act in accordance with Your Word. May children, of all ages, desire to be respectful. May fathers and mothers be responsible to You with regard to their behavior in the home and establish a safe place for their families to grow in Your Word.

May respect for You grow exponentially so that fathers love their wives and families as Christ sacrificially loves the church. Open the eyes of wives and children (again, of ALL ages), to respect their parents that there would be a domino effect. As parents respect and honor their parents (even if they are deceased), that their children would, in kind, respect them.

Father, please help us to build families that are "tight-knit!"...communities where Your love is established and is the foundation whereby parents are honored. May these families be pillars of a new beginning for our nation and stand as a foundation and testimony to re-build our society from the ground up.

Help us, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

City, State and National Leaders, No. 2

***That our city, state and national leaders would be presented with the Gospel and loving Christian witness.

Romans 10:14
“How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?”

Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,
You are the Go of mercy and of grace. You are the God who has upheld this nation from its inception and You have established tremendous riches that have blessed us since its birth. Thank You.

We have become a proud nation and we have turned from You. We have become proud of our accomplishments and our forsaken Your Guidance. We have become a nation that believes we can rule ourselves without You. Forgive us for forgetting Your mighty works. Forgive us for turning from bounty of our past and for believing that we are able and capable of managing and handling our affairs without Your guidance.

Forgive us, that believe in You, when we have not lifted up prayers for our leaders. Forgive us when we have not delivered a testimony and loving Christian witness. Truly, we have the government that we deserve. Hep us to see that You are the True and Living God and revitalize our eagerness to be Your witness.

Raise up those who would seek to have a voice to those leaders in city, state and national offices. Fill them with words that would move the hearts of these leaders! May these spokespersons find open hearts, willing minds, and people who don't have answers and are looking for them. Work within the hearts of these leaders to realize that they don't know how to lead or to govern.

May our leaders find themselves inept and impotent to do the job that they have agreed to do....and place a longing within them to do a good job. Father, please show them their need for You, for Your guidance, and for Your mercy. At such time, may there be a god-chosen witness in their presence.

Father, please place an urgency within the hearts of Your faithful to pray for our leaders. May church leaders rise up and visit civic leaders. Give Your people influence and open their eyes to realize they can make a difference. Raise up congregants who have influence to bring together teams of prayer warriors to pray intentionally for their civic, state and our national leaders. Pour out prayers into these prayer warriors...prayers that would move Your heart, that You would open the hearts of our leadership....prayers that would energize, change lives, and redirect this nation to serve You once again.

Help us, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.
