Veterans Day Prayers and for the US Military

*** Praying for US Veterans and the US Military

Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,
Your Word:
John 15:13
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

' Isaiah 41:10
Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Father, this nation has been at war for decades. Only You know the long-standing results. One thing is clear: these men and women have committed their very lives to protect this nation. I thank You for them.

Thank You for their valor, their sacrifice, and ask Your mercy on their woundedness and pain. Many are now veterans, some disabled physically, some emotionally...and usually for the remainder of their lives. Bless them for heir service, bless their families with unconditional love, and may they see value in their service.

For those with long-lasting pain:
These people will never forget what they experienced: loss of family, loss of treasured friends, loss of health (physical and mental), loss of limbs...the list is endless and no matter how long it becomes, it will only touch a small fraction of the loss that has been suffered.

Have mercy on our military and our veterans.

They gave their time and lives, they gave up their families. Father, these men and women sacrificed to maintain those values that You uphold. Especially freedom. Jesus You came to set the captives free. These men and women go to do the same. They go to preserve our freedom and maintain our freedom to worship You. Uphold them. Upgird them.

Families who have lost loved ones still suffer. Veterans who are struggle to return to civilian life experience daily loss. Those who have lost arms, legs, vision, health... struggle daily because they loved and fought for my freedom. I am so grateful.

I thank You for them, I thank them, and I ask Your mercy and strength to them and their families. Help them to find joy in each day. Bring them relief from their pain and the agony of their remembrances. Have mercy on them O God.

You understand the sacrifice that every serviceman and woman, every family, every friend has made. You are a God of sacrifice. Embrace each person in a unique way to fill the specific needs of each day.

For their families (spouses, children, parents):
You alone know the sacrifice that families have and continue to make as military families. Father have been involved in wars since the beginning and You alone know all the horrors that war brings. You know each family. You know the thoughts of each spouse, each child, each parent.

You are the God who is there...You cry with them, You hurt with them. May Your understanding of sacrifice be a comfort to them.

Embrace them in the loneliness of their thoughts each day, and may they be aware of Your presence and find comfort.

Father, these people have been loyal to principles that You uphold and I ask Your special mercy on them. Only You O God can truly understand them. Draw close and draw them close to You. May Your healing touch be undeniable.

For those deployed:
For our military now fighting the wars "over there"... may we "over here" be cognizant that we are at war and brave men and women are fighting on our behalf.

Call us to attention and call us pray for them.

Give these soldiers and every military leader uncanny insight to fight the battle. Grant strategic planning to those who make decisions. Cause the correct "intelligence" to reach those who define engagement so that this nation may again be secure.

Father, our armed forces have been ignored over the last years. Give us insight to rebuild. These brave men and women, driven by a desire for a free nation, need the best military equipment, the best military minds, and the best morale—to do the work of each day. I ask for it!

I ask that this nation quickly turn from a lax mindset and become sober, managing our resources with a priority that elevates the needs of our military.

For national defense:
Father, have mercy on our nation. I petition You that we return the place where Your blessings can again flow freely. Please pour out a spirit of repentance over this nation. Please bring us, each of us, to an understanding of sacrifice. Bring each person in this nation to deep gratitude for these men and women.

Move us to pray for our military leaders that through Your hand, we can again be a nation of might, that fights for right—as You define it.

My we salute our military and may this nation again...rejoice in You alone.

In Jesus’ Name.

Protection for Service Men and Women, No. 2

***That God would protect our service men and women both home and abroad. Also those who serve as first responders.
Proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,
Many people desire to serve this nation, once great, and to protect the freedoms that we have enjoyed. They enlist in the service and serve diligently. Father, why did these people go into this line of work? They endanger themselves: men and women in the services, fire and policemen and women, first responders, including our national guard. Why? Because they see their mission to protect what we have and to serve others.

Protect them Father.

As our nation falls into deeper rebellion, it has become increasingly dangerous for these individuals. Grant them keen discernment. Trust has deteriorated between these individuals and everyday people. Help us all to find unity. Help us all to find ways to re-establish the trust and to identify the goals that we can all support.

Draw men and women of top character into these professions. May the be stalwart defenders of our nation. Raise up their hearts to be staunchly uphold our Constitution. Up gird their bodies. Strengthen them - all of them: their joints, bones, muscles... Strengthen them, psychologically...their mental faculties to be sharp and clear. Father, these individuals need to respond immediately to situations - give them instant reflexes that they can trust—that they know and respond appropriately to the situation to differentiate between potential harm, and need.

Father, our nation seems to be closing in on anarchy. People are taking matters into their own hands and these men and women, who serve, are caught in the middle, which has become increasingly dangerous. Protect them, Father. Surround them with Your heavenly hosts.

Overseas, there is deeper and deeper tension. It is hard to know who stands for Your ways. Give these service men and women courage. Grant them wisdom in their words and actions. Pour a goodly amount of common sense when determining their course of action.

For those that make critical decisions, may they seek You for direction. Father, we need a better moral and civil code. Give us help to align what we ask people to do with Your will and Your code of ethics. I ask that those who carry out orders, both in the civil and military community not have ethical or moral issues with what they are asked to do. May the quality of the decisions and orders hold strong before Your standard.

Again, Father, protect these people: physically, mentally, morally, psychologically. Protect them as they serve and may our nation turn back to You, that we have no regrets when we stand before Jesus Christ and His judgement.

In Jesus’ Name.

Protection for Service Men and Women

***That God would protect our service men and women both home and abroad.

Proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,
It is necessary to have a militia and to protect our nation, which You have been so faithful to protect throughout our history. Were we not founded as “One nation under God”?

Truly, You have been with this nation and with those who have served to protect these freedoms which we enjoy. Thank You. In the major wars of the earth, You have been with us and with our men and women in arms. Thank You. You have given wisdom to those in power who have called upon Your Name. Thank You.

Father in heaven, we have turned from You and gone our own way. We have turned our back on Your provision and Your ways. Forgive us. We have not revered the freedoms that so many died to secure. We have not treasured freedom in Christ. Father we have turned our back on You and in doing so, one this nation. We have abandoned those who serve in the armed forces. We have taken our freedoms for granted, forgetting that these gifts are from You. Forgive us.

We put the lives of those who protect us at risk in our folly to follow our own desires and forsake Your Word. Forgive us. Cause us to repent. Press us, and pester us that we repent.

Father, for those in the service, who protect our nation, I ask Your specific presence upon them .May they be cognizant that they are not alone, that there is a God of Creation who knows them, cares for them, and desires relationship with them. Cause Your Word to proliferate in the lives of these men and women. May the Light of Christ flood their hearts and minds and may they fall at Your feet to say, “Help Lord!”.

For those who know You, grant them words of hope and encouragement. Make them salty! And may those who see them be genuinely curious. Give words to Your servants, Father may all these in the service follow You - leave not one behind! May they be commissioned for the Kingdom of Christ.

There are so many infiltrations that have permeated our service branches that are antithetical to Your Word. Father, cause those false gods, those false religions, to be silent, to be irradiated from within the services. Those who seek to silence the Truth, may they turn from their wicked ways and embrace Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth and the Life. And if they will not do so, strip them of hope, of courage, and desire. Cause them to come to confusion, to be exposed and to be taken down.

Protect the service men and women with Your mighty hand. Plant peace within them and may they find courage that is beyond their understanding. Make them diligent to protect and save our nation. Father, may those of us who have forsaken them, and taken their work for granted, cause us to repent.

I ask that the U.S. change our ways to see the plight of the veteran and to reach out and care for those who are back home and suffer. Prick our consciousness that we may repent of our past misdeeds. As these men and women have secured us, may we turn and secure them in their latter years.

Hear my prayer, in Jesus’ Name.
