Ephesians 3:10-12
10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

Please pray with me:

Father, You are the Creator. There is manifold evidence that the entire earth was created and did not evolve. The beauty of Your creation is delightful. The seasons bring new beauty each year. The sunrise brings new beauty each day. Thank You.

We delight in the beauty of the seasons, and enjoy the newness of each Spring. We forget that You have created this earth. We live each day, encapsulated in Your creation and we so easily take it for granted. Forgive us. There is evidence all around us that You are the Creator, and yet we ignore it and ignore You and we amuse ourselves with every distraction. Forgive us.

You have made us in Your image...and we too create. We distinguish ourselves from all the other creatures by our desire and ability to create... and to do so for he pure joy of creating. Thank You.

Father, as we, as a society in the U.S. have fallen away from our identity as "One nation under God," we have taken so much of our art and our artistic creations on a different path. Our artistic abilities seem bent on reflecting our desires rather than our position before Your throne of grace. We have made ourselves important. We serve our desire and somehow we have come to believe that expressing the tenor of the world, and our desires is more pleasing than reflecting You: Your goodness, Your care. Your wrath and justice. Forgive us.

Show us the path back. Bring about a new movement of artistic reflection to the U.S. Holy Spirit, unite our hearts in every genre: music, painting, sculpture, dance, graphic design... Bring us back to stand before our Creator. Give us a heart to ask You to lead and guide us and to use us in unforeseen ways to depict You in all our creations.

Our creations are many. Raise up those artists who are led by Your Spirit. Lead them that many others be drawn together in a movement, by Your Spirit, to create all kinds of artistic renderings that would please You and would draw others to You. Give us discernment to hear Your voice, and to commit ourselves to reflecting a God of love and of justice.

Holy Spirit, draw artists to the Word and grant us a sever hunger and thirst to know the living God deeper. Grant us renewed relationship and insight into the character of God the Father and into our Lord Jesus Christ and You, Holy Spirit. Give us skills that our art would be intriguing, and would draw people to You. Show us how to express the attributes of God in all that we do.

May our lives be lived in close communion and fellowship with You. May we become small and insignificant in our own eyes so that You can become significant and be glorified through us and our artistic creations. May our creations reflect who you are because we have taken on the character of Christ Jesus.

Salvage us. Renew all of us. Draw us together to serve You. You are the true and living God. Thank You.

For artists and entertainers

***That artists and entertainers avoid debauchery, pornography, perversion and drunkenness in their craft.

I Corinthians 6:9-20
9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. 14 And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power. 15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. 17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. 19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,
You have clearly shown us what is honorable and what is not. Thank You. You have set the standard fr our own good and the protection of our bodies, our families, our honorability and our position before You. Thank You.

In this nation, many decision makers in our entertainment industry have proceeded in outright rebellion to Your Word. …and we have not taken this battle to our prayer rooms. Forgive us. Many have watched the decline of the entire entertainment industry permeate every aspect of our lives. We have watched as our youth have become infected with sights, sounds, and enticements to participate in behavior that our entertainment industry has birthed …and we have not prayed, we have not stood up on behalf of Your standards, and we have even brought the rebellion into our homes. Forgive us.

Show us the path to change. Open our eyes to be repulsed and disgusted with the sexual addictions and indecency that has saturated our lives, online, on billboards, in stores, everywhere we go. Forgive us for becoming numb to what we know in our spirit is immoral, unethical, and indecent.

Cause us to rise up in prayer. Cause prayers to flow from our hearts. Prayers of confession, and prayers of repentance. Father, may we embrace these as gifts of Your grace. Father, our decision making has proceeded without You, and without the wisdom that You offer.

Give us a heart to reach out to those involved in the entertainment industry with Your Truth and give them a heart to hear it and courage to respond.

Father, You are the Creator and You gave us a spirit to create. Fill our artists, and musicians, our writers and painters, fill our artistic communities with the wonder of nature and open our eyes to the beauty that You have give us to guide us, lead us and develop our artistic sensibilities. Fill us with honorable ideas that would tantalize the public and draw them closer to You. Fill our hearts with joy through engaging Your guidance and Your Spirit to lead us in the development of our craft.
