Psalm 112:9Please pray with me:
9 He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honor.
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this nation, th USA, in which we live. Thank You for the generosity and compassion that You have poured out upon us. Where we have enjoyed Your prosperity, where we have indulged ourselves in the privilege that You have given us —and not looked to You with gratitude, please forgive us, bring us to confession, and show us the road to repent.
Father, so many are needy at so many different levels. There is physical need. Some oars still outside in the cold of winter, homeless. There are those who have no food for their children…and they live on our street. When we have turned our heads, averted our eyes, and pretended in our hearts that we have no responsibility—please forgive us and show us the error, that we ay change.
Father, show us our part. Give us hearts to share the prosperity that You have poured out on us. Present us with opportunity and prick our hearts to move swiftly to assist. Ban judgement of others in our thinking that we may receive those in need and open ourselves to them, that they may get the help they need.
Are there times when we thought, “There must be a government organization to help this person.” …when You were calling us to help? Forgive us and show us the path to repentance. Give us a heart to demonstrate what we can do, what You would have us do. May we be swift to respond.
Grant us insight and words to say that restore the dignity of those who need help. Give us hearts to bond with them, serve them and bring joy and laughter back into their lives. May our joy and peace be strong and evident to those who are served. grant us that the Gospel of Christ be evident. Show us our part.
May the Name of Jesus be exalted. May His kingdom be served with excellence.
In Jesus’ Name.
