For fathers to exercise godliness in the home

***That fathers in every American household would exercise godliness.

Proverbs 4:1-4
1 Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding. 2 For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law. 3 For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother. 4 He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.

Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,
Father, thank You for the institution of family. Thank You for fathers and mothers, together, sharing the responsibilities of raising a family. Thank You for blessing families and for giving them a love for each other. Father, so many “fathers” are not present in the home, even when they live there. So many do not. O that there would be a father in every household. What a change that would make in this nation. I ask it be so. The issue is not just the men. It is also the women. We have become so self-centered in what want that You are no long in the center of many, many homes. Help us change this.

Raise up those godly men who have taken their place as the head of their households. Give them a heart to mentor young family leaders. May programs, in churches, establish mentorships between men to understand Your order.

Father, I plead the case for women, wives, and mothers. There is a constant barrage against the order You established for the family with regard to roles. It seems misunderstood. Many women feel disrespected and belittled. Raise up husbands to respect and love them as You intended. May men understand their role is on elf sacrifice. May it be their joy to do so.

Ephesians 5:25
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

May this scripture become the daily practice of godly men in the home. May it establish this role for their children for generations to come. May godly women respect their husbands and may strife cease in the homes. Join husbands and wives together for the raising of their children. Grant them time to pray together and establish their presence before Your throne of grace.

Father, may the union of husbands and wives be so strong that they protect their relationship before You and before each other. Raise up godly fathers to establish godly homes in the U.S.
