For a nation unhinged...the prayer of one sinner

***For a nation unhinged...a prayer for Robert Mueller and Steve Scalise
Isaiah 60:12
For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, [those] nations shall be utterly wasted.
Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,

Father, the bedlam is unbelievable...unconscionable. Yet again, the week brings news beyond understanding. This nation has set itself up where individuals believe they have become god. Father, forgive us.

You are Giver of Life and a God of mercy. You do not execute immediate judgement when we sin. Thank You. You clearly communicate that Your desire is that all men be saved.
1 Timothy 2:4
Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
We continually show You that we do not want to be saved. We want to be god. We do not want truth...we want what we want. Forgive us and change our hearts.

When we can't easily find a way to condemn President Trump, we appoint a special counsel to find "something." Please forgive us and turn our hearts to desire the knowledge of truth.

Surround Robert Mueller with truth-tellers. I ask for discernment for him, those around him, and this nation. He promises: "I accept this responsibility and will discharge it to the best of my ability," Father, it is not enough. He can not do this job unless You intervene. We conveniently leave out, "So help me God." Father, may Robert Mueller ask for your help. May he ask for it every day of his life. Essentially, his mission is to find "something"...with which to condemn the President.

...and what is the purpose? Have we turned over a new leaf and become a nation that wants to know the truth? ...or do we seek "something," anything to incriminate. Does this man realize that he has been put in place to dismantle this nation? Does he realize that he has not been appointed to find truth but to identify some means, any means, to dismantle and discredit the President of the United States..,so we can execute judgement? You know O LORD.

Father, there are those in the media that have already begun executing POTUS. They have no boundaries and they must know that they are inciting people to take a life. These acts are unconscionable. I pray that their conscience has not been permanently seared. Please, Father, bring us to our senses and our knees.

Father, the Congressional baseball game. Can we, as a nation see that we have become unhinged and return to You? ...or does it give other people permission to shoot and kill—to execute judgement as they see fit? The question asked, "Are these republicans?" ...has being "a republican" become a national crime that mandates immediate execution? Please bring us to our senses, that we may appeal to You for Your mercy.

Please touch the body of Steve Scalise. Bring healing and mending to him physically as well as emotionally and psychologically. Guide the medical staff to find unique ways to restore this man's body. I ask that his road to recovery be short and effective. Give him the mental determination and motivation to make it through the physical pain necessary in the healing process. I ask that his internal organs heal. May there be no permanent damage to their ability to function according to Your design.

But what about his mind and heart? How can that be restored? Truly, there is safety and security only through faith in a just and merciful God. Please give this man wisdom to process what has happened to him. I ask the same for his family, for they have been wounded as well.

Others have been affected and You alone know the extent of the mental and emotional damage from this incident. These people need You Father. Please demonstrate Your care for them in tangible ways. May they come forth knowing that You are there and You are able. Please cause these people to seek You. As the players united in prayer at second base, may our nation unite.

Grant us all the wherewithal to amend our ways and return to the safety and security of Your Word. May we clearly see that we are on the path to destruction...that we have become unhinged. May we align ourselves, yet again, and join together—hinged to You.

Help us, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

In Jesus’ Name.

The sins of a nation ...the prayer of one sinner

*** And they will know we are Christians by our love
Proverbs 6:16-19
These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,

It is confusing—perhaps I make it so. You are love, yet You are justice. Your love for us gave us the Lord Jesus Christ to demonstrate obedience and provide the way to eternal salvation for our souls — yet, You anger over sin and there is a comprehensive list of what You hate:
  • Pride
  • Lying
  • Shedding innocent blood
  • Wicked hearts
  • Mischievous activities
  • A false witness
  • Those that sow discord.
I look at this list and I know I am guilty.

I have been prideful, looking at those who try to escape their reality with drug and addictions; those engaged in the sex industry and trafficking; those who uphold and promote sexual confusion—especially with children... and what have I done? I have said in my heart, "Thank you that I am not like those sinners." What a smokescreen. It is pride. Please forgive me.

You hate lying and I have truly lied to myself...every time I looked at the sin of others and didn't pray for them...even a short mutter under my breath... I lied to myself when I thought, "There's nothing I can do!" ...I could have prayed and I should have done so. I haven's sought You on how to love them. Please forgive me.

...and abortion continues. There is no way that I am innocent of this, because I haven't been diligent in praying for those making a decision to abort, those who work in the industry, those who have power to change the laws. ...I have lied to myself when I thought there was nothing I could do... I could have prayed.

You hate wicked hearts... and there are daily reportings of terrorists acts. I cannot plead, "I didn't know." ...surely, I am so aware of so much that it is overwhelming. The wickedness cannot be denied. I have not prayed for those caught up in terrorism. I haven't even muttered a prayer for the victims and their families. Please forgive me.

You hate mischievous activities and a false witness. The reports from our government seem stuffed to the brim with power agendas, clever ploys, lies, leaking of information... the list is endless. It is mischievous and when I don't pray for them, I become a part of it—a participant. Please forgive me. Change me.

You hate those that sow discord...Oh Father, this happens in our churches, our neighborhoods, our communities...is it any wonder that the discord of Congress struggles to find unity? Change me into a unifier. Change ME. Change many...

It is the "age-old" question. How am I to love?
John 13:5
By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
I can, at the very least... pray.
Do You hear the brief mutterings under my breath? I think so.

Help me. Help this nation, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

In Jesus’ Name.

How can the U.S. find unity...a prayer

*** A prayer for unity in the United States
Psalms 133:1
Behold, how good and how pleasant [it is] for brethren to dwell together in unity.

Philippians 2:2
Fulfill ye my joy, that ye be like-minded, having the same love, [being] of one accord, of one mind.
Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,

The nation seems to be falling apart. As a whole, it seems that we are intent on turning from our heritage as a Christian nation. The divisions, the fractures are deep and have permeated every area of our society. Our self-control seems to have evaporated to the point that we make ourselves foolish in the eyes of the world.

As a believer in Jesus Christ, I struggle. How can I help? What can I do? What would YOU have me do in this situation? Help Lord.

Yet, Your Word clearly bids us to unity. It is Your pleasure when we dwell in unity. You demonstrate perfect unity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. ...so You have not left us without direction or guidance. Thank You.

You are unified and You desire us to be unified. Your Word teaches us to be like-minded, having the same love, and to be in "one accord"...so we are to unify ourselves through love. Truly, the media reports make this most difficult. We need Your help. Grant us prayers for those around us, for those in the news. Grant us prayers for our families, our neighbors, our communities, and for this nation. Here my prayer for help. We cannot do this on our own.

But Christ has made it possible. Christ has shown Your love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Sacrifice. Pour out Your Spirit on Your church in the U.S. with a sacrifice of praise.

Open our hearts to love each other. May our love begin in our families— may we truly love one another. May it spread throughout our churches— may we truly love one another. Father, establish Your love in us through our words and actions that others may see and "know that we are Christians by our love." Please help us to quiet our judgement and squelch any condescension.

Teach us, daily, to learn to love and to praise You for the work You will do in our hearts. Transform Your church into a powerful influence into this society. Open our eyes to take ownership of our silence that has allowed the changes in this nation. Help us to do our part— may we truly love one another and may that love capture those who seek, that they too may find You.

Help us, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

In Jesus’ Name.

What we must do to change the U.S.

*** How Washington became what it is today...and it should be no surprise to us. Here is what we must do.
Proverbs 28:13 (KJV)
13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,

It should be no surprise to us that Washington, the seat of our government, has become what it is today. Although this nation was founded on the principles of Your Word, we have turned. Although You have prospered us in every way, we have enjoyed Your prosperity, while crediting ourselves, and turning away from Your ways. We have grown fat and lethargic in every area of our lives.

We have not protected the pathway that brought us prosperity. We have fallen away.

We have given up humility and thanksgiving and replaced them with pride. The love of many has grown cold. We have become weak and forsaken our right to worship You. We have not loved our children enough to teach them Your Word, Your wisdom, Your justice, Your righteousness. We have put government as the center of our deliverance and we have not fervently prayed for Your protection on those who govern. Forgive us.

Surely, as we have gone about our days and our interests, and as we have forsaken Your ways, and as we have not worked diligently to preserve our relationship as One Nation Under God, it should come as no surprise to us that our nation has come to this place:
– We redefined success to be what we buy...and became a consumer nation
– We allowed our national debt to exponentially skyrocket
– We allowed prayer to be taken out of our schools
– We chose divorce rather than honoring our covenants
– We allowed marriage to be redefined
– We chose abortion rather than be inconvenienced
...and so many more.
Surely, we have forsaken Your ways. We have not prayed for our leaders; in our government, our churches, and our communities. We have created the government that now brings such folly. We have forsaken You. We are the cause of our current situation.

Call us to repent. Call us to change and may we respond with humility and thanksgiving. Let us rise up and take ownership and call upon You to heal our land.
2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Father, I confess that I have enjoyed the privileges that have come to me because I am an American. Thank You that I grew up in this nation. I confess that I grew up with prayer in the schools, but I did nothing when it was removed. Forgive me. Help me to repent.

I confess that I have watched the moral decay of this nation and stood back, justifying my lethargy with the words, "God told us the world would turn from Him." You command me to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, yet, I justify not doing so, thinking there can be no peace. Forgive me. Help me to repent.

The abortion rate continues and these people are Your inheritance. I have done nothing to help. At times, I have disdained the abortion industry, but I have not prayed for those caught in its lair. Forgive me. Help me to repent.

Divorce has become so commonplace that young people have no interest in marriage. I know of couples who are challenged in their marriage, but I have not prayed, or offered support. I have come to accept divorce as commonplace. Even though I know that You can change and heal relationships, I have not called upon You. Forgive me. Help me to repent.

Father, I know that debt is not the way of Your scripture. I allowed personal debt to get out of hand. Surely, it is no wonder that our national debt is now out of hand. I am part of the cause of it. Forgive me. Help me to repent.

This nation can not change on its own. Only through You can there be healing in this land. I can not change on my own. Only through You can I be healed. Teach me to repent. Teach the U.S. to repent. I appeal to You.

Help us, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

In Jesus’ Name.

Prayer for SCOTUS and for national security

*** For godly direction in our future, and for national security that is uncompromised
2 Chronicles 19:6-7
And said to the judges, Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for the Lord, who is with you in the judgment. Wherefore now let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the Lord our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.
Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,

For the future of this nation, we appeal to You with regard to our SCOTUS and the nomination of Neil Gorsuch.

Who is this man? We cannot know. Truly, he may not know himself, but You know him. We hear words, we heat the recommendations, we hear snippets of his past and read bits and pieces, however, YOU alone know comprehensively who this man is. So we appeal to You alone.

Father, who are his influencers? Who are the people who cause him to think differently? Does he have an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ? Is he YOUR choice for this position?

How does Mr. Gorsuch's faith become active and is Your Word a barometer as he wades through the massive quantity of information that must be digested when making a decision?

This person will decide cases that will impact the future of our nation. How does Neil Gorsuch rely on nature's laws when he determines the use of precendent when he is "on the bench?" You know.

Reveal these things during these confirmation hearings and may ALL who vote be savvy listeners to hear between the words.

You are not bound by time and You live as much in the future as the past and present. You know these things. I ask for guidance as the choice for the person to fill this position plays out. You put people in places of authority. If this is Your choice, may the process be released. If he is not Your choice, Father, reveal to us where there are concerns and issues and cause truth to be brought into the light.

Father, I ask that whoever is confirmed, that his or her relationship with You be an intimate, daily sacrifice and that Your Word is sought as precious. Help these proceedings to establish a person of prayer, of insight, of clear articulation and of a winsome personality. May the choice here unify our politicians in some remarkable and unexpected manner.

Prayer commentary on Gorsuch Statement from David Kubal,
President and CEO of Intercessors for America (6:03)

Father, this whole matter about the wiretapping is disconcerting. How can this nation function, if security is breached? You are Truth. You, who know the hearts of men and look deeper than the outer coverings of words and visual pleasings...You O God, know Truth. Yes, You are Truth.
Luke 12:2
2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
Our nation struggles to recognize truth. The media distractions and the divisions amongst us raise barrages of messaging that pelts and clouds our thinking. Where can we put our trust, except in You. Giver ear to this prayer O God of Heaven. You are Truth.

Father, there is foul play in our government. Though the media raises all kinds of havoc, clashing their cymbals, and raising defiance without thought, care, or intelligent argument —we know that foul play regarding our national security carefully and strategically makes its way into our government offices.

You promise there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed. Father cause the foul play to be brought into the light. There are facts that are indisputable: That conversations were recorded in Trump Tower and released through the Washington Post and other sources.

Cause the FOIA request through Judicial Watch to be granted. Cause the truth to be released in a timely fashion. ...and may Truth be shouted from the mountaintops. May Truth descend on our media and crush their insistence on creating disunity. Give this nation an unsatisfiable appetite for Truth. May we seek it out and treasure it. May we establish ourselves in Truth.

Father, help us to secure our nation through Truth. You are Truth.

Prayer commentary on wiretaps from David Kubal,
President and CEO of Intercessors for America (5:18) Help us, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

Jeremiah prayers —for the USA ...No. 8

***How long O Lord? ...what would delight You each day in this nation?
Jeremiah 18:8
8 If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.
Please pray with me:

Father,
How long has it been? Decades? ...and this nation continues along our path of evil ways.

We are so different from China. Their evil came from leadership. Their oppression came from the top down. Where does ours come from here in the U.S.? It seems to come from within. Prayer gone from our schools. We taught entire generations NOT to pray. Forgive us.

The people from China are oppressed and North Korea as well. Here in the U.S., the people oppress each other, fighting for their own evil ways to meet their current agenda. Father, every generation seems to push the gamut. We have embraced evil and outwardly defied You. Forgive us.

How does a people shift in their thinking? Have the shepherds, the pastors, pastored? Have the teachers taught comfort? Has the prosperity gospel turned us to our own evil desires?
Is it even possible to repent? HELP LORD!
Have there been great revivals under these circumstances? Can they begin here? How? Surely, You would not leave the harvest...for it is Your will that all men be saved.

Ignite leaders who would teach and lead in repentance. Create an army of stealth warriors, to support these leaders.

Father, what would delight You each day in this nation? How can I help?

You beckoned Jeremiah NOT to pray for Your people. What about the U.S.? We repeatedly turn to our evil and throw it in Your face. Our intentions have become an abomination.
Save those who serve You.
Enable us to preach the Gospel.
If You cannot relent, then activate us, that we serve You and have no regrets.
Have we heard Your warning?
I trust that it is so ...
or perhaps many who heard it, have covered their ears
     ...and the ears of others.
Help Lord. Save us. Save me, Save the U.S.
...that You may again delight in us.
Up gird us to endure faithfully to the end. Help us, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

Jeremiah prayers —for the USA ...No. 7

***Is this nation now a parched place in the wilderness?
Is it now uninhabitable?
Jeremiah 17:10
I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
Please pray with me:

Father, You search our hearts. You test our minds and You know all there is about us. How can we do other than stand in fear?

What do You see when You test our minds? What is it like for You to search the hearts of this nation? When You test our minds, how do we respond?

Surely it must grieve You. Father, Our nation...are we now reprobate in our thinking? We despise what You love: righteousness. We deem ourselves able to establish righteousness and we execute our judgement, instead of Yours.

We pronounce our wisdom to be greater than Yours. We raise ourselves and our discernment to be righteousness.

We engage in every folly and we stand back in joyful pride. We, as a nation, have declared ourselves god. How can we, as a nation, repent? Is it possible?
You know, O God.

You give every person according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings. ...What is our fruit, O Lord? What have we done?

Surely the ways of this nation have become wicked and the fruit of our doings are full of blaspheme and all that You abhor. Is there to be a harvest here? ...or must this nation burn?

Your people wait on You, O Lord —do not tarry. Have mercy on us. Give us Your heart for those who serve You. Encamp around us that we may keep our hearts and minds aligned with Your will.

O Holy Spirit, cause the Light of Christ to shine bright to all who would see and desire. May we be impermeable testimonies of Your Truth, Your love and Your care. Embrace us with Your presence and comfort us as we see the vileness of this land.

Hold our testimonies of Christ strong and fill our mouth with life-giving words for those who might hear and turn to You.

Up gird us to endure faithfully to the end. Help us, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

Prayers of my heart —No. 7

***What is important to You? What do You see in my day?

Heavenly Father,
What is important to You today? There's a lot of busy-ness in my day ...and people. Thank You. I see meetings, service delivery, income opportunities today and in the future.

M____ intimidates me a bit. N_____ does too.

Are these little intimidations preventing me from moving? Sometimes it seems I am just plain lazy. Would You help me with it?

The heart is deceitful above all things...Father, what do You see in my day?

Is my heart desperate? ...and deceitfully wicked? ...if I saw this wickedness in my heart, would I even be able to look at myself?

Oh Father, What did You see in me...before Jesus? What do You see now?

Who can know it? Only You.

If I ask You for Your heart and to love others as You love —is the cost the same as what Jesus paid? Am I asking to sacrifice my life for others —even those who don't like or want me? ...or for people who disdain me? Could I even do such a thing?

Your heart. Your love.
The cost - Your life.

I offer a meager, "Thank You."

How can I give You my life? You love me —it is easy to give You my life —because You first loved me.

How did You do it? ...how did You love those who hate You? Sacrificing for them as well? How do I honor You? How do I demonstrate Your love for me —to others.

Who can know it? You can.
You can know it.

I ask it.

Help me, that I may stand strong and that I may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

Jeremiah prayers —for the USA ...No. 6

***Is this nation now a parched place in the wilderness? Is it now uninhabitable?
Jeremiah 17:5-8
5 Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.
6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.
8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
Please pray with me:

Heavenly Father,
Is this nation now a parched place in the wilderness? Has this land become uninhabitable? Are our eyes and hearts so distorted that we cannot see when good comes?

How can we turn to trust in You? Surely those of us of faith, have not protected our land. Wh have not prayed for those in authority. Do we even know how to repent? Father, do as You will, that we may know that You are the Lord God.

What must happen that we become like a tree planted by the waters? How do we become a nation, whose hope is the Lord?

Have our roots rotted away? How can they again spread out to receive the living water? Must we fear the heat? Do we even know how to do so?

Sculpt us, O God, to again be like this green tree that trusts in You and does not fear the drought ...because our roots grow deep in You.

Must we endure persecution to grow deep roots? If persecution comes, will it help us to once again bear good fruit? Do I dare ask You to send destruction —to grow us as tress? I appeal to You.

Help us, that we may stand strong and that we may be found faithful in the day of His coming.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and for Your Word. Thank You for Your provision that meets all my needs.

Father, I put my trust in You. Forgive me when I have put my faith in people. Only You are my strength.

Protect my heart that it not depart from You —or even waver, or consider any other options. For You alone are my strength and my salvation.
